I installed a 2280 formfactor 4 tb NVMe inside my legion go with an adaptor. I show the process and test it in this video!

Solder the ribbon to the drive.
Sorry man, I know you were trying to save some money. But honestly it would have been worth just getting the right size m.2 NVME drive. Now that drive is going to get hot and so close to the battery is not a good idea. Anyone thinking about doing this I would think Twice, because already the chipset gets really hot, and the battery gets hot when charging, now you have a bigger drive on top of the battery. 😬 Yes it works but at what cost
Do you have the link where you can download the recovery software for the Legion Go? Thinking about doing this.
I thought about doing that to the SD routing the cable out to back side in a nvme case..
Nice, did you test the stock gen4 2242 in the 2280 adaptor to check if it limits the speed? A side from the cable length, I don't see it should impact the gen4 speeds much.
I wonder if that white cable is for the joycons, did you see if there was a printed antenna extended past the breaking point on the support bracket?
It'll be interesting to see if we can order a the back shell and support bracket to cut a mount into it.
What screen protector is that?
Wait, white? Is that a skin?
Have you tried without the white cable plugged in? Wonder what it is.
UPDATE: Ok, so I just try it without the white cable and the device is still functional. 😅
why would u need 4 tb ?? is the small 2tb drive not gona for all the games u wanna play
interesting
How'd you get a white one 😮
Would be great if someone made an aftermarket back panel for these systems that would relocate the drive to an accessible area and allow for 2280 drives. It would obviously add thickness but it might be worth it for some.
What should i look for to get gen 4 speeds ? I have a gen 4 m.2 4tb. Just want to make sure i get the best speeds.
Part 2 review video? 😢
Why is the GO white?!
Genius
I really don't recommend putting an M.2 drive on the battery because the drive gets very hot
Could of just cloned the drive it's so much faster
Canada missed with the 1tb models 🙁
Nice video, glad it works for you.
Nice – did you use a double sided drive? I wonder if using a single sided 4TB P3 would maybe give more clearance to not remove the plastic support bracket.
Definitely want to try this out at some point! Thanks for the video ❤
Hey man, which 8/16 gb ram sticks would you suggest for legion slim 7 amd for a low budget
The all-in upgrade 😄
Thanks for your sacrifice! temps look great.
I did it the easiest way. I strapped on a Samsung T7 2.TB SSD onto the kickstand and it's stuck when kickstand is in or out. It isn't in the way for anything due to the size of Go. As for speed test, the original internal SSD is a 5500.MB/s like the one in PS5. I benchmarked it.
