Is 43 GBP really a good price for a broken 1st gen PS4 in the UK? That's almost the price for a working one here in Germany. Prices for them have crashed hard since the PS5 is permanently in stock.

Last item you should be able to figure out the transistor you need buy checking the datasheet of the ic next to it if it connects to it
If you search for launchpad pcb there is a picture. The picture is not the best, but you can see it's a 5 pin component.

I don't understand why there are constant screws missing after someone's tried a repair. They came out, put them back in!! What did they do?? Unscrew them and then throw them across the room??

I think you've been at a disadvantage because sellers have been dishonest, misleading or outright lying. It's a shame but we all think you're doing great. Most importantly, you're entertainment is. And your YouTube skill has improved by leaps and bounds as well

One of the Pins of the missing transistor may be connected to ground via a resistor, so the
grounds polarity will provide a clue as to what type of transistor "NPN or PNP" would be
used, to save costs manufactures use the same transistors, so take a look around on the
circuit board and see if you can locate any other transistor and see if you can get another
one to see if it will fire up the unit, if it fires up make sure the transistor is operating around
the same temperature as the other transistor, and if it is and the unit works, you may do a
quick dance, lick your finger and stroke the air notching up a win for a miniscule profit.
If no transistor can be found on board at least try a NPN or PNP that will fit there..
