  1. From what I’ve found out initially this is an expensive higher end vintage Olympic reel. I know I’d love to have one from a collector’s point of view. I like this reel but it is absolutely different with that strange anti-reverse setup and the independent clicker. I would have oiled that anti-reverse dog before putting the rotor on. You know, when I first saw that spring on the AR shaft I thought it would rub. I wish you had a bearing for that bushing. Maybe you can get one and install it later. Per our discussion earlier, the bushing may be all you really need anyway. The frozen bearings on my recent Daiwa GS-90 made me rethink main gear bearings vs. bushings a little bit. Still I like this quirky reel. If they cost what I think they would cost on eBay I won’t be getting one even if I could find one. In our discussion earlier today (Tues.) I think we were confusing Olympic Powerful and Ryobi Powerful. At least I was anyway. Your work on the line roller was great! I like the reel and enjoyed this informative video about a reel I had never seen before. If you ever want to part with this reel let me know!!! — Chris. PS. I have found that all these Olympic LG all metal reels are quite heavy. I have two LG 550 Mark III saltwater spinning reels that are the heaviest saltwater spinning reels I own. That’s saying a lot given how many really large saltwater spinners I own.
