Good work, really enjoyed the content. Ride safe!
Great content, thought you'd gone a rad with a painted nail, but looks like self abuse 😅
Hi Ian, been following your videos for sometime now. Im from the Philippines, planning to buy the Transalp but Im wondering how I could buy these modifications
How difficult is putting in the skid plate and crash bars, for a first time? How long of a job is it?
Whoa this bike looks great now. Much more aggressive and that black color is perfect. Im curious about the abs fuse later in the next video also does this bike have a slip on exhaust or will you have to use a hacksaw to remove the factory muffler?
My question still stands from episode 2 and has gone unanswered: How well does this bike stack up against the 800DE Suzuki???……also, NEVER use the adjustment marks on the swingarm to align a chain. If you do, 90% of the time the chain will be out of alignment. The proper way is to find the proper tension of the chain and then do the final alignment by looking down the chain on top, from the rear sprocket down to the countershaft sprocket, similar to sighting down the barrel of a rifle. Slowly make adjustments to each side until the desired tension and alignment is achieved. Trust me, this is the ONLY way to properly align and adjust a chain. if it's necessary to remove the chain guard to gain a clear view, so be it. You MUST align both sprockets by sighting down the top of the chain or premature chain wear will occur.
Should have done the best bang for your buck mod. The suspension.
nice modification! try reviewing the Qj SRT800SX
Congrats you spent more then just buying an Africa Twin…. 🤡 🌎
For more off-road, I'm thinking about swapping my BMW 750 GS with Transalp. Honda is a bit lighter and not as top heavy as GS, but is higher (seat height).
I’m just glad it’s here. Hopefully I’m able to get used one after they settle into the market
Ian, this is the exact episode I’ve been waiting for.
The links to all the accessories will really help.
I am currently saving up to by my TransAlp without financing.
I will definitely be doing the same transformation to mine.
Also, kudos to you for doing all this tedious work yourself, and for having such a clean, organized, and well appointed garage.
Let’s Ride!
looking good, great accesories
would like to see you get hold of a chinese ktm 790 & your thoughts & comparisons to the 890
I’m sad they didn’t give us tubeless as an option. I would buy one of these asap if it had a tubeless crossspoke option
Will Africa Twin rims fit the Transalp? I see VMX makes tubeless rims for the Africa Twin (and many other bikes) in many colors. If they won't fit, maybe contacting VMX can get them to start making Transalp specific ones.
How did the ABS fuse removal work out? Does it disable the traction control too? Any side effects?
Thanks for another great video, very informative, I really appreciate your attention to the details. I also appreciate your choice of parts they look good and are sure to work well since I hope to be the next owner of this bike .
Wow, great video. Thank you!
