Very helpful
There's an nsk plant in Peterlee by me in county Durham ๐
Paslode frustrate me if Iโm honest,. They were the industry standard in nail guns world wide for DECADES.. I canโt see why they didnโt invest heavily into battery guns BEFORE everyone else added battery guns to there range. you only ever meet the older generation of tradesmen using gas/paslodes these days. Guns they invested. Into YEARS AGO. anyone new to the trades is buying someone elseโs battery guns. shame really. dying brand in that sense.
Do you have online tool sales.
1:06:15 – these brushes literally had 10 revolutions on the old armature, why are they no good?
fair play . changing them brushes on that old draper really saved the owner from the imbarisment of it being just set to the wrong speed
Where can I find hilti parts?
You've probably doubled the price Of the (Draper ?) SDS drill ๐๐- Great Vid
Just out of interest, why could you not use the first set of brushes on the Evolution?
Again excellent vid. ๐
Hey Dean, do you by chance fix Stihl MS170 Chainsaws? if you've got a video on that I'd love to watch it thanks
Repairing is a hard work not just changing the parts just like that makita roller sander .keep up good job
You're absolutely right regarding being burnt. If I find out the company doesn't honor their warranty, or if they can't be repaired, or if the parts aren't available, I'm out. Will be interesting to see if the new EU right-to-repair legislation effects tools at all.
Love what I see. Question about mag drill brushes; Could you clean or burnish the first set and then use them ?
Great video thank you? You sure your not a magician
That Elu Router looks likw its straight out of the 80s…
Even the new stuff looks dated once it gets grimy
Price of that Paslode motor is a disgrace! Looks like its a couple quid motor from a toy!
Why can't you put the used brushes in the Evolution magnetic drill? You only used them for 20 seconds.
love the old Elu tools, and still have some working fine after 35 years.Their routers and chop saws were the template that many other manufacturers followed, as they were the trade carpenters choice.
The original Elu routers were great tools for their time. Then B&D bought them out and the slide to Walmart status went with them.
I like the term "grub screw" it did look like a grub. We call them "set screw" in the states (at least in Florida and Ohio).

Awsome
I've had two of them MOF 177 1/2" routers & two MOF 96E 1/4" & at the time there was no better Routers available. When the last MOF 177 got stolen I replaced it with an Hitachi (I still got it) & it's fucking garbage compared to the Elu & I still got one of the original Trend that replaced the 96E but the switches are crap the Trend has had about 5 new switches.
I got the beast Festool OF2200 as main 1/2" router now but them Elu now Dewalt are still seriously well balanced & nice to use Routers. The design has barely changed in 30yrs & for good reason.
I was surprised at just how much of a pig they are to open up for the bearings though.
I've been wanting to see you doing an elu router mine is whistling wnen it is showing down was thinking of chang the bearings myself but after seeing that i think ill send it to you. Only thing is im in dublin๐ข
Oooh… the DeWalt switch repair was good to watch !!
Love it๐
Good Work. No Complaints from me Paddy
That old Draper didnโt half bark into life after a new set of brushes.
Loved the video.simply superb
Hi I've had elu router for about 34 years had a bit of work done on it but still going strong. Good old stuff elu ๐
I had that same Elu router in the 120v flavor up until a fire sale a couple of years ago. You can 100% get the controller and tachometer for cheap from any Dewalt service center. BYO Bearings. Thatโs the first thing Black & Decker cheaped out on with the bastardized yellow versions. Big time. PS – itโs missing a nut. Two on the left thread at the top.
Had a similar belt sander repair – used a couple balls of epoxy putty (clay like consistently) behind wear plate to give a new flat surface for plate to lay on – cheers – love the multiple tool videos

A big thanks for you being able to show camera angles at truly annoying machine assemblies and that you can do all these repairs on camera.
Them elu routers have been around since the 70s they have been under different brands such as trend and dewalt, they only stopped making them about a year ago. I always think why change something if it works.
Fantastic ๐๐๐๐๐
Love your videos favourite YouTuber hopefully you can start selling merch. Especially for the international customers
had a giggle at that so called "Draper SDS" for sure. Not knowing it had a VS Dial and stuck on No:1 Speed, lol. Keep the vid's coming buddy ๐
Why could you not use the brushes you tried with the bad motor, on the Evolution mag-drill? You tested a set, ran it less than a minute, but then opened another new set for the new armature.
Thanks
