How about the left trackpad having way stronger haptics?
anyone here know of a fix for xreal beam not working with steam deck oled thanks in advance
I have the same issue on both my headphone and IEMs. I just received today and I dont want to send it back man…
I have the Razer Hammerhead Hyperspeed earphones. It works on Bluetooth fine, but I got those earphones for the low latency USB-C 2.4Ghz dongle. I notice that they are very loud on this mode. Even when they’re set to the lowest volume they can still be pretty loud. I thought it was my earphones the whole time, but maybe it’s the Steam Deck? The weird thing is I’m not using the audio jack. I’m using the USB-C port to transmit audio wirelessly.
I don’t have this problem, I looked up my Gaming Headphones to my SDO , no cracking sounds or anything, just a slight Hiss not sure if it’s related , I mostly use BT Earbuds because I don’t like cords. I also hooked up my old school apple earbuds with the cord and nothing
You might want to try it again, but this time don't use tape. Use heat shrink tubing to create a tiny washer to give the screw space. Based on what I've read (and my personal experiences) I don't think this is a grounding issue as much as it is the screws being too long and picking up interference from the OLED panel (which it is right on top of).
I'm extremely sensitive to those types of noises, this might be a deal breaker for me. OH never mind, I'm cool with the using the USB-C jack.
i fixed mine by completely removing the daughterboard which involves removing the wifi antenna (the rectangular with the metal design on top, right below the left screw that made it difficult for you to tape) which is held in place by velcro, so it just takes a little force. the third screw you taped is for the wifi antenna and wouldn't affect the EMI at all. i taped the two screw holes under the pcb, as well as the screwholes on the pcb and that completely removed all noise for me. i even tested with my campfire andromeda 2020s which are notorious for being very sensitive and the noise was unbearable before this fix, now it is completely silent even when navigating menus.
i'm not sure if i can link the guide on reddit that i found, but it had step by step instructions with photos and it was very easy. i believe taping the screwholes under the pcb along with the pcb screwholes is key to getting rid of the EMI completely. i hope this helps
Would correctly sized spacers work?
Slightly loosened the two screws near the audio jack and audio is completely clean using my IEM's now. It's both a relief that it was such a simple fix but also kind of stupid…
Hi Tony, I have LE model and I'm noticing a noise from the left thumb-stick when rotating it or point it left or right. Its like its touching something, any idea? the right thumb-stick is fine.
LMAO
On another note, has anyone been able to use their official Steam Deck Dock with their Deck? Mine is completely borked after the recent software/firmware updates to both the deck and dock. My TV outputs a black screen. 3rd party dock works fine.
In 2023 someone still use jacked headphones? If it wasn't for this video i wouldn't even know it. And most important, i could not care less because i won't even check if the issue is real or not because i use bluetoothwireless headphones since years.
Also I notice the steam deck isn’t responsive to volume control on earbud headphones. How can Steam release this to market?
I guess I’m lucky my ie 900 works just fine
I have been using air pods so didn’t even notice this issue. Thanks for bringing it up though.
Do you have problems with Wi-Fi randomly disconnecting like I had with Steam Deck original model? I had to get a replacement because I don't want to have issues with Wi-Fi.
What iem’s do you have?
I have the issue. It is definitely annoying. Will be making it known, but I think I will just use bluetooth and grab a usbc to aux for emergencies. Shouldnt be a thing but a return will probably just yield me another deck with the same issue
Just tried my sony xm4 wired with steam deck, and yes it does buzz a lot, and it gets quieter when i lower gpu clock. Something really strange
I dont have IEMs but i used my audeze planars with the 3.5mm and it does not show up on mine, not something ill use often anyway but its nice to check, the only fault with mine so far is it doesnt want to undervolt, and thats a bonus if you can in the first place.
I think people completely forgot that this was an issue a year ago with the LCD Deck that valve patched through software. Hopefully that can be done here. Out of the two OLED Decks I got to test, both of them had the noise to a very very slight degree. Like I need to be in a very quiet room to hear it and cannot hear it over game audio, so for me it’s not worthy of an RMA as everything else about my Deck is flawless. But I do think voltages or something with the audio driver could be patched to address this and I’m surprised so many people are rushing to RMA, unless it’s worse that what I’m hearing. Some people have said it’s as loud as their game audio which is wild to me and in that case I would definitely RMA.
My Steamdeck has this same exact problem with my earbuds, just got wired IEM recently and was thinking it might be the fault of my headphones but I guess it's a hardware issue.
Nylon washer would be way less jank of a fix and not cost much more than capton tape
How do I get my usbc dongle to work? I plug in my iFi Go link dongle into the usbc port and sound still comes through the Decks speakers.
or you could just use a USB C headset or wired earbuds. That's what I use. works great 👍🏻
In the meantime you can use a usb-c apple dongle those have nice dacs built in surprisingly, not incredible but very compact? i'm not sure if it'll work tho with the steam deck
Still waiting etch vs glossy screen comparison video that you talked about
That's a bummer that it didn't fix your issue completely hopefully valve will address the issue and come up with a better solution.
Thats a weird problem. I don't particularly like wired buds so it doesn't bother me much. But still weird
“Personally, I’m not gonna be doing this” but….but. U just showed us a video of you doing it
I have this issue with my IEMs, but not with wired DT770PRO but the deck can't really power those to its fullest. Bluetooth works well. I think Valve needs to look into this issue. I put in a ticket but I don't want to RMA
