  1. Is there an actual thermal paste remover / cleaner? Was there any evidence of a cracked PCB? Your solder paste, can it be re-softened by mixing a small amount of liquid flux? Great reball & remounting!

  2. Great video, and great work, Chase! Scraping the stencil with a blade after melting all of the paste to ensure you're not left with any balls that are too high is a great idea, I'm going to adopt that into my reballing workflow 🙂

  3. Great call, procedure and results! Small suggestion = Cotton swabs (aka Q-Tips) leave a lot of unseen fibers, on the DUT. For precision clean-ups, like what is necessary for balled components (where you only get one shot,) I suggest using makeup applicators (aka lipstick wands.) They have short, plastic fibers, which are individually fixed to the core. So, they leave very few fibers behind, if any at all. And, they have a wedge-shaped tip, which makes them good for getting into tight places. You find them on the makeup isle, not the medical isle. Don't get me wrong, cotton swabs are great, when used for the correct job. HTH.
