  1. The big difference between you and Wristwatch Revival, for example, is the purpose of the video. WR tells a story. He tells the story about the history of the specific watches he works on. Dropped by Jimmy's great aunt in a bomb blast then used to fend off a serial killer, etc. He edits the actual video content so most of it is interesting repairs/showing how much damage has been done through the life of the watch. With wristwatches the memories of the history of the watch itself are more likely to be available. The watches you tend to work on are probably old enough that the memory of the history isn't there or is much farther removed. People who don't necessarily know much about watchmaking enjoy the videos where you can listen to the interesting stories/background of the watch while seeing evidence of the history it has gone through. My dad once sent me a link to a WR video and told me he thought it was interesting (he knows about my hobby of watch repair but didn't know I actually subscribe to WR). Granted, he has a very mechanical engineering oriented mind and that might play a factor, but it goes to show that there is an appeal to non watchmakers.
Your videos probably don't have quite the same appeal to those who aren't into watchmaking. You show much more about the process of actually working on the watch as opposed to the history of the watch. To me, the value of your videos lies in the techniques you demonstrate as opposed to the entertainment value. You go MUCH deeper into the actual techniques used/skills needed to fabricate/repair parts and service the watch. I can LISTEN to a WR video and be entertained without having to watch (I usually do though). You have to WATCH a JD Richard video to really benefit from it.
    That's my take at least.

  2. P S: I hear Dayton knows a thing or two about production 😊 and YT shenanigans also.
Kenny Bania was the Gold Quoter not Kramer.

Bania: Why do they call it Ovaltine? The mug is round; the jar is round… they should call it Roundtine. (pauses) That's gold, Jerry! Gold!

  3. Mainspring is set AKA no longer able to provide full power. or as Scotty would say
    "I don't have the power captain" 🔧⚡⏱
as you know i have to do some videos
I think Chris is someone to ask about video production,💡
    maybe it takes three cameras
im bias as I enjoy your videos or sagas in watchmaking very much💽🎬🎓

  4. I know I’m a data set of 1, watch your videos and feel like I’m sitting listening to your stream of conscious. Sometimes I’ll even just listen without watching to hear the cadence of your repair knowing I am no where near your skill set, but just hear the pacing. I’d say keep doing you but I’ll keep watching either way!

  5. J.D. I don't watch your vids for your business acumen or the slick production. It's your Watchmaking acumen that blows my skirt up. Please keep doin' what you're doing, and I'll keep watching and liking sir!
