  1. This mod basically implies that the Sony proprietary format is pretty much the same as an SD card just a different physical proportion. Love to see it…

  2. I wonder if this also affects games where you need the lower memory card size to make a save file, had that problem with my lego starwars II game when I bought it back then.

  3. AI Summary:

The video demonstrates a simple modification that allows one to increase the storage capacity of the PSP Go handheld game console. An adapter is installed that replaces the proprietary Memory Stick storage with a microSD card, enabling storage capacities up to 128GB. The process is shown to be easy and involves simply opening the console and plugging in the adapter. This significant increase in storage overcomes a major limitation of the PSP Go and allows it to fulfill its potential as a portable multimedia device beyond just games. While some minor plastic trim is required for installation, the mod achieves the substantial benefit of vast extra storage for a low cost.

    Time saved: 11 minutes.

  4. I'm curious if the plastic shell of the sd to ms adapter could be removed to further slim down the mod; maybe even make it fit the space available better, with less of a bulge. I know that I'd pay more for something a bit cleaner than an off-the-shelf SD2MS adapter with a custom ribbon cable extension tacked on, clever and straightforward as the current mod is.

  5. Wouldn't a Memory Stick adapter work on the PSP Go? It's also vastly cheaper than this contraption. They're like $2-$3 tops with no installation needed.

  6. Now I am happy that the PS Vita has a cartridge slot, since there is no disassembly involved for the SD2Vita adapter.

What I don't like was that Sony used proprietary storage to begin with.

  7. I have one of the Kouchan ribbons, but not managed to secure a PSP GP yet πŸ˜‰ if someone created one of these devices embedded in a NEW REPO Rear Shell, that allowed easy access to the SD Card, I would go out and buy one and a PSP GO in a heartbeat, this would allow us to keep the original back shell intact, what do you think @Tito? only issue is the GO is quite a niche product that hasnt got a massive user base.

  8. I have a suggestion, one that I would go for in a FLASH! a new Rear shell incorporating the "SD to Memory Stick Pro Duo Adapter" into a REPRO Rear shell with the SD card accessible externally so it can be removed for adding ISO's etc. via PC. also this should allow the original shell to be kept without cutting! what do you think @Tito. Only issue is the GO is a nich market…

  9. Have you seen the PSP Go power armour mod? It's a bigger backplate that lets you install a higher capacity Vita battery and gives you more space to do this mod without having to cut anything!

  10. I wouldn't say it's "maxed out" at 128GB. It would happily take a 1TB card. Whether a list of 100s of games would be manageable on that UI though is another question.
