and they always sugested buy new and expensive hardware.

So data breach prevention from this 60B$+ company is worth more than the environment where we all live in?
Clearly there is someone somewhere that either doesn't understand how networking works, or doesn't not have in place the people, knowledge, processes, software and hardware to replace old equipment with new ones.
The guy that made the video is clearly signaling the rest of us between the lines here as he is also flabbergasted by all this, but he got well paid and is doing his job. But he is asking a good rhetorical question about "is this really the way to go" in 2024, or is this hiding something else (like those switches already being compromised??)…
