nah Eric… the salvage shop was on board the Titanic you mean…… 😂
If that motor sat any longer I think it was going to start the petrification process.
on today's time team Eric of i do cars.
I like the 89 over the 93. The 93 style all had rusted out frames sooner
If you haven't scrapped the heads and you want to try something kinda satisfying, grab the right size drill bit for the broken intake bolt and drill it out from the bottom side. Once you make it to the top side, the drill bit should unscrew the threads you drilled through.
Well it's good you're saving what you can.
~38 he says a wrist pin is siezed, if i wasn't lazy I'd google what that is…
When I'm working on a stucky bolt I ALWAYS work it back and forth rather than try to undo it in one fell swoop.
Had a 1989 F150 4X4 with a 5spd manual- loved that truck had dual tanks best driving in snowy weather- plus had cruise control
That 351 is an F4xx block, ITS A ROLLER CAM BLOCK. Its worth saving!!!
30:43 Wow, thats an authentic SEARS 19mm wrench! Where'd you find that relic?🔧🤔🔧🔩🛠️🤷🏻♂️
Maybe it was stored along with that engine for 17 years on the shelf…
Oil leaks: if there’s no oil under it, there’s no oil in it.
👏👏👏👏👏
One of the best Motors I think Ford made the 289 V8
Once again, whats going on with the pudding pops boxes on that shelf? I get it with the fire extinguisher because well you are you and fire is quite possible!🔥😂Is it just a parts storage box thats never moved, or is there more to it Eric?🤔 Bill Cosby was the pudding guy, is there anything else going on at @Importapart's engine dismantling operation backroomwater pump storage area?😅😂 Inquiring minds want to know Eric….🤔🤷🏻♂️👍🏻👌🏻🤣🛠️🔧🔩🛢️
when a engine sets for several years in a medal building or old car condensation from hot to cold will fill the block with water i had a couple be to the top of engine with water
I have bought complete engines just to get the timing cover after ruining them doing water pumps. It wasn't one of their better ideas…
That lower intake is worth money? I have one in a storage truck.
If Ford would have spent just a little more time, they could have come up with an even goofier font for the valve cover
Hand tool rescue uses
Evaporust .. that stuff is phenomenal, it's also eco-friendly.
my daily driver is a 1992 f250 with a 351w reliable @ easy to work on!
You know, tetanus is serious.
Cam free with purchase of block, you say?
The snack pack boxes?! Eric they are multiplying!
DUDE!
Put a pipe wrench on the big end of the rod and twist it around and that will break the piston loose.
Hello, love the channel, can you please do a tear down on a GM 2.7 turbo engine please. Had a customer of mine just tell me about all the trouble he had with his.
If you could get a motor out of a Ferrari f40 or testarossa (any year) that would be the sh*t
Who needs the Gym?
I think you used your entire can of PENETRATOR on this engine. Lots of fun to watch, and appreciated! Keep 'em comin'.
I am surprised they were roller lifters.
Years ago in the 80's we owned 2 fords that had 2 different motors. 351 cleveland and a 351 windsor.. little did i realize what we actually had back then
The 92-96 Ford Trucks are by far the best, I have a 1996 Ford F150 with a 5.0L (302) Windsor V8 with 210,000 miles on it and still going strong. The only things I replaced on my truck was the starter, the rear fuel pump, and the power steering megunisum but other than that mostly was just simple maintenance, took out the transmission fluid just to get rid of the shuttering it was making and it hasn't had a problem ever since.
Wow. Amazing job with those water pump bolts! How much is price and postage for timing cover to Finland???
Those outer intake manifold bolts are always a nightmare because they go into the water jacket. I always use some heat
Next time you get an engine like this soak it for a couple weeks in evapo rust remover 😂
After your first comment about giving up I through I would have stopped 30 minutes earlier. Thanks for tearing these down.
"It was running when I parked it."
17 year old grime, I can smell this video 😂
Like the mopars with the water pump bolt water jacket trick..😂
I had a 77 Tbird 351 w needed valley gasket, I had to tear it down 4 hrs later I had it completed.
EASIEST V8 I worked on .
THE DISTRIBUTOR IN THE FRONT 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾.
I have to say, I am really enjoying the voice tone modifications for certain words and phrases. Adds some additional humor to the video besides all the pain and suffering you go through dismantling these engines.
That's a nice marine engine ya got there.
Great video as usual. I had been hoping you would tear down a 5.8 because I own a 1990 F-250 4×4 with this engine in it. It's my snow plow rig & I really learned a lot about this engine from you. Thanks Eric!
The loose oil cooler might have been a clue as to what happened to this engine. It might have leaked coolant into the oil.
Sat on a shelf outside a marina more like it. Any by oil pump, don't you mean bilge pump? I've rebuilt many a Ford small block, but I've never seen anything like that.
Must have been the lower shelf of flooded Houston.
I could never understand why manufacturers don't use anti seize on bolts.
Lay down the pen oil on those cylinder heads, bet she would come loose the next day… Maybe, ie craigslist rebuild
Well you certainly earned your like this week, that looked like a nightmare. Sad to see the old 351 end up like that tho 🙁
