  1. I hate those strip things that you had to shove back in. It's not fun at all. Also all the self tapper screws SUCK. They need to use something else for sure.

  2. Did you know you have vinyl flex hose connected to PEX fittings using PEX cinch clamps? Flex hose connected to PEX using Cinch clamps is actually agains residential code because it leaks, it’s not the right kind of connection. Good to keep an eye on those and replace with proper fittings at some point

  3. I say this about both our camper, and our motorcycles. If you don't have the ability to fix most things yourself, or the means to pay someone to do it right, don't own campers or motorcycles (or boats maybe, but I've never been a boat owner so I don't know). Stuff like this happens way more often than we all like to admit, and the ability to fix it yourself is extremely valuable, especially if you are on the road and in a pinch.

  4. I think the only thing I would have done differently up to this point is leave the bottom open and put a shop fan in the compartment and one underneath the RV pointing up. Laminated floors are great until they get wet. With no floor joists there is no properly repair a laminated floor if there is extensive damage. Unfortunately I dealt with this in a Grand Design and it was pretty much a total loss. We have a local RV tech here who is awesome and he said there was just no good/safe way to fix the extensive damage I had.

  5. Even if you use compressed air to blow out the lines, you need to use a good dose of plumbing antifreeze in ALL the traps AND the toilet(s). This will protect the tank drain valves also.

  6. I have no idea why manufacturers don’t put a drain pan inset into the floor under the wet area to drain water out instead of allowing it to soak our flooring or underbelly so we never see it till there a bigger problem. A drain pan design and tube going out like our low water drain tubing make so much sense to me.

  7. You said you winterized, but you didn’t do it properly. You need to put significant antifreeze down all drains and toilets such that all elbows have antifreeze in them, instead of water. In addition to sucking it up in to the water lines via the aqua panel. Better luck with winterization next year!

  8. As a total newbie to the world of slides with our 2020 Torque toyhauler, I've been happy to see that we have no toppers at all! The roofs of our 3 slides are sloped down and away from the RV and covered with PVC roofing — just like the roof of our RV! 🙂 Simpler = mo' betta' on my side of the tracks! 🙂

  9. QQQ – JD, do you (or anyone reading this) know of any organization that assists Disabled Veterans with locating and purchasing a used (inexpensive) RV to live in? NOT asking about financial assistance, just the locating, evaluating, and negotiating part. For example I have found a class A in Cleburne, TX but do not have RV purchasing experience and do not want to waste airfare without knowing it is a likely good deal worth purchasing.

  10. Add a carport to the front of your building, I keep my 2021 East to West travel trailer under a carport and it's never in the sun or rain unless we are using it and it still looks like the day we got it. That Texas sun is going to tear those beautiful RVs up…. love your videos 🇺🇸

  11. My main lippert awning on my coachman had the same issue with cord coming out. I tried to shove the cord in. It also wouldn't roll in anymore. I have a manual awning. I rebuilt the springs and tensioners in the awning and it was better but not great so I took it to a dealer and they couldn't get thw cord in either. They cut it off.

  12. My friend had the same problem with his Lippert awning. We turned the roll by hand until we could insert a nail in the hole on the cup. This relieved the pressure on the roll and it was easier to push it in.

  13. I notice in the picture with all the plumbing lines visible some bad plumbing that should be addressed. There are Flex lines attached to Pex fittings with crimp Pex clamps. You can see the Flex lines swelling. They will eventually leak. That type of plumbing would not pass plumbing code anywhere in the country and the manufacturers know this but it's cheaper to do it this way and leaks will likely occur after the warranty expires. Shame on them and the RVIAA for not enforcing proper plumbing code. See Rigor RV Repair YouTube channel for correction solutions. Good luck with it!

  14. pro that there wasn't any insulation beneath the tanks. Con, lack of insulation and cold proofing. I had a leak caused by an addition I made. I had to remove and replace the insulation under the fresh and black tanks. But the black tank has R30 and the Grey has R-17 along with tank heaters. Superb insulation. Arctic Fox fifth wheel.

  15. It would appear that you didn’t winterize properly, because from someone who lives in Upstate NY where temperatures reach well below 0, if you did no pipes or drains would have ever burst, just sayin’☹️
