you can always put en 3.5 line in cable in the Apple airpods Max so it be wired and you get much better audio quality
I got a pair of Bose sound link ae2 headphones there Bluetooth or u can use a cable with 3.5mm jack and they charge with usb cable paid 200 US dollars for them

We all know that apple is good that’s why it’s expensive but if I’m gonna spend $600 dollars for apple headphones I’d rather buy marantz receiver with that amount,I have marantz headphones and it sounds good too,Drew the owner of that headphone is flying there now to get his headphones back lol 😆
Those Apple headphones are quite expensive but I am sure you got a good deal used. I bought AKG K-271 MKII they are quite good for 100 euro. Grado SR 80 were good aswell. The vintage headphones that I tried were pretty bad. I think that those pad's can be easily replaced, they just slide off, they do with AKG.
