  1. shared the game with my cousin; once at the end, he called to ask how to finish it; he didn't had "head computer" in his list; you get it while talking to the bartender in the beginning; I didn't know and I laughed saying that he will laugh too when finding; he got upset and I cut the call; I learned a month later that he had to restart the whole game to complete it; not my fault but I still feel bad about it; enough to describe how this game is good, when someone replay a whole rpg.

there's a vid on youtube about a code that gives access to a secret level for devellopers; there you can respawn in the level you want, with the money and equipment you want, if I'm not mistaking.

the soundtrack is great enough to have it in the music list.

    – oops
    – what do you mean "oops"? what is this loud ticking sound?
    – hmm, a cortex bomb, I think

thank you videostore for accepting to sell it to the teenager I was; like brand new.

  2. Hi there!
I'm starting to make longform Youtube content and my first video covers the entire history of Silent Hill. I wanted to reach out to you as a courtesy to ask if you would be okay with me using a few seconds of your Silent Hill content to serve as B-roll under my commentary in my video? Your username appears on screen during that portion so people know it came from you 🙂

I'm sorry to leave this as a comment but couldn't find another way to contact you. Hopefully you get this message. Thank you!

  3. Shadowrun was a great example of a game that was so cool it didn't matter that young me had no idea how to play it well. I could only ever get so far until a lack of understanding gated my progress, as it should be. I should revisit this now that I'm much older.

  4. I actually talked to one of the devs of this game(Paul Kidd). They had a very short period of time for development. I think it was 6 months if I remember correctly. I always wondered why the game seems to end abruptly. The game probably would have been even better if they had more time to develop.

Paul also helped to develop Nightshade on the NES. Paul and Jeff Kamenek were the reason for the silly dialogue that I think makes the game so memorable today.

  5. This was the first Shadowrun video game I ever finished. Thinking back, it's really thin on Shadowrun lore (return of magic, goblinization of the populace). In "Shadowrun Returns" your character partners up with Jake Armitage for a while.

Still need to finish the Genesis game…

  6. 1:10 Imagine my surprise playing this as a kid, hearing how strict Nintendo was with its content, and they straight up show the main character getting gunned down in the street outnumbered four to one. No mercy. Dude was running away. Annihilated. CLEAR AS FREAKING DAY. I was so hooked lol.

  7. I remember beating this game while having walking pneumonia – this game and a mix of high fever and medication are a trip. I am a huge fan of the Shadowrun universe and loved seeing Jake's cameo in Shadowrun Returns. Great run!

  8. You Should Also Play Lagrange Point, (That Game Has A VRC7 Chip That While Weaker Than The Yamaha 2413 Chip Used For The Mega Drive/Genesis Hardware Provides Sounds That You Cannot Hear On Actual Famicom/NES Hardware) Sakura Wars, Treasure Hunter G, Treasure Of The Rudras (It has A Unique Magic System That Lets You Type Any Words To Create A Spell) And Front Mission (Use The Addendum That Fixes The Grammar And Typos That Plague The Original Fan Translation Released In 2001)

  9. I don't think this one is nearly as good as the Genesis Shadowrun. The music alone makes the latter worth playing. And I still think it's one of the coolest renditions of Cyberspace.

  10. I got this game as a kid randomly once from my dad. Could never beat it by myself, I literally didn't know how to get the Maria Mercurial concert tickets. Then when we finally got Internet years later, I just wrote down an entire guide to the game on a notebook and went on to beat it by following the guide when I was in middle school. I still love this game and the music and I'll forever be mad we never got that Shadowrun II sequel 😢
