I enjoyed the video. Cool to hear from other people in my same boat. I was laid off from my mortgage job in January of 2023 and I have struggled to find employment. I'm in Jacksonville, Florida and from what I see there is a lot of work here I just have not found my fit and pay rate that I'm used to. I have taken a job doing petroleum pipeline inspections however I do not get consistant hours enough to pay bills and survive. We all just need to hope for the best in the next elections.
I know which comments you're referring to. It's bloody hard out here man. They don't get it. I hate my freaking inbound and outbound job and its WFH!
I really enjoy your videos. I too worked in a call center several years ago, and it made me swear off customer service work forever. I'm sorry to hear that you have to go back to the call center after being backed into a corner; good luck man I'll be watching

I'm sure tomorrow will be the "meet and greet" and then when you tell them about your background, they''ll just be like "oh wow…. that's interesting" then go to the next person. I'm sure somebody will be there with cosmic pink hair.

The media only reports on the official unemployment numbers from the Department of Labor, which comes from the individual states. I can assure you that none of the states that are openly hostile to the current government are not underreporting their unemployment statistics.
So sorry you had to go back to a call centre. Again. I've had to do so many times, against my better judgment, because of being pressured to "just get a job."
All I can say, at this point, is to just hang in there, not let the haters get to you, and keep plugging away at your art/music/photography all the while. And hopefully one day you'll have enough success with one of them, that you can drop the call centre like a bad habit.

Same situation here, unemployment for over 50s is rife here. Its so depressing. Just using my superannuation to survive then I'll have to neck up after that.

Hey Pete, good luck on the new job. What kind of up selling do you exect at this new company? That is by far the worst part of the job and hardest metric for me to meet. I can typically meet other metrics. Of course, ive been at the same place for 7 and a half years.

Good luck, you should be able to "ACE" it as a former call center rep! You can do it! Piece of cake! This is coming from a fellow "Veteran" Call Center Rep, been there, done that, and would return to a Call Center if need be. Best Wishes, you can do it!

Just got power through everyday, collect a check, and enjoy our hobbies as an escape while we’re off work.
