I've been using the ZV-E10 since it dropped. But I use an Avermedia capture card instead of the built in webcam mode. Paired with a 16mm Sigma lens and you are SET.

Sony 5000 for $190 sigma lens 1.4 $200 dummy battery , capture card, hdmi cable $50 so for… $440 , 1080p with blurry background. Can’t beat it half the price of the camera z whatever … 720p naw

With the sigma 16mm this is about $1300 AUD but at 720p?! Does it change with a captire card?

The cam overheats, needs a wired battery attachment, and having to constantly reconnect into streaming mode and re plug the usb in is a complete deal breaker.
Do you need a capture card for streaming Games? On mac with this camera?

I just think the manufacturers are making a big design mistake by putting the USB cable connector right in front of the flipped screen.
Just ordered the ZV-E10 w/ 16-50mm lens new for $600, and then ironically stumbled on this short. Pretty stoked on the deal I ran across & I'm excited to learn more about it. It's admittedly my 1st camera. I have a Logi C920 webcam for work so Idk that I'll be using it as a webcam but, cheers🍻

Normal USB isn't the answer right? Because transferring 4k in real time using normal doesn't sound possible.

My Canon EOS 500D from 2009 has a webcam mode with usb. This is not new.
entry level and only 720p? better be $50 or less
"entry level" costs more then all my other peripherals combined (hell almost as much as my PC alone), I would say it's the most out of touch thing he's said but I've seen him call 300+$ accessories and lighting budget.
Or i could get a $70 "4k" webcam from razer instead of spending 1k on a "webcam".

that camera is overkill for a webcam, get a A5100/A6000 Instead for a quarter of the price, it has webcam mode too and 4D focus in 2023 is still holds up pretty well
