The Pioneer Kuro Elite Pro 151-FD is my favorite one of the TVs I own. Recently had the back off the tighten all the screws. Amazed at how many boards that thing has.
You can see why these were so expensive – lots of quality electronics and a chassis built like a tank.
Yes my main TV is still my Pioneer PDP-436XDE – with the sperate control box, love it.
I probably saw this being made, having worked as Manufacturing Process Engineer during the early 2000s at the PTK facility in Castleford where this set was born !
Great picture, and excellent sound – especially with a sub-woofer, which it has the socket for! Built like a Rolls 🙂
A rule of thumb I have when repairing any plasma TVs. Always tighten every screw on all the boards if not this will cause problems with grounding problems which can lead to possible failure of Y Sustain boards and permanent damage the problem is with all plasmas is they warm in side Causing the screws to come loose over a period of time causing Major issues👍🇦🇺
I had this tv but decided to keep the Panasonic 42 inch one. because its 1080p G15
what is the diff, plasma led?
Great work very nice TV,s .
Love the old Pioneer plasma’s they are excellent on true blacks as well 😊
Thanks Allen
Apart from loose grounding screws that resistor is the only weak spot that i am aware of.
I still have a fully working Pioneer Kuro Plasma, far better than todays Led or Oled sets
for a natural picture.
Long may they last.
Just like the Sony c7 vcr years ago couldn't see any deiffrence from live TVs or recorded Via RF input no hdmi in them days
Great video Alan, love seeing things brought back to life 👍
