  1. The only continuity I'm not getting is from BT+ to Q5. Is that why my GBA wont power on? If I try BT- to Q5 I do get continuity.

I tried adding solder to Q5 but it still wont work. Any suggestions?

  2. Tnx allot! Your point-to-point path for checking continuity was very informative and easy to understand. I was able to find a cold spot and fix my unit, this way! 😉

  3. hey thanks, this helped me get a dead GBA running again. turns out it was a dirty power switch, and then a dirty volume wheel. i squirted DeOxit into both of them and they came back to life.

  4. Thank you so much for this!!! This is an amazing teaching video. The reason I wanted to start modding gameboys was to learn about systems and how to fix/modify them. The problem came when I was finished upgrading the screen and I had run into some weird power issues. It definitely wasnt caused by a dirty or faulty switch, as I checked that pleanty after running into the issue. The biggest problem was when I went online to search what could be causing this, I found approximately 50+ videos, ALL OF THEM saying "If you have power issues, just clean the switch" and showing how to do that. While I now know how to expertly disassemble and clean a power switch, I still didnt know what was ACTUALLY wrong with my gameboy. Im excited to go test everything out, and see if any of those components are my point of failure.
    Thank you again!

  5. I can't seem to find my problem, everything is fine, but when I turn it on green light just blinks once then nothing happens, also when I turn it of green light blinks again…
I'm just going crazy with this

  6. Thanks you very much sir, the switch was the problem, so I made a little bridge between pin 2 and pin c and everything worked (I'll replace the switch)

  7. Most of the time it's the power switch. Compared to the rest of the GBA motherboard the power switch is crap. I don't even bother opening the switch up and cleaning it anymore. I just replace it – using a hot air station – it just takes a few minutes.

  8. Must've watched nearly every relevant GBA Advance fix on youtube and I'm still no closer to fixing my console.

Then as I was about to give up I watch this video. Short, concise, educational and straight to the point. I'll try and use this and hopefully finally diagnose the problem. Thanks 👍

  9. Great video =D I think you can get replacement switches for these, and I am told you can take the existing one to pieces – but its so small I am not sure I could do that without breaking it lol
