How much space is between wall & dryer?
CURIOUS , Cenk, WHY do you always leave BLACK WOMEN OUT of your EQUASION❓ Without them, you LOSE regardless! Because they are not to be IGNORED, nor will they KISS A$$ to save the DEMOCRATIC PARTY from the ORANGE HITLER❗🤨
why can't it be used for gas dryers🤔
How does it get clean?
My challenge is adapting this Magvent system to a wall vent that is approximately 4.5 feet above the floor. Question: Can you have the wall attachment (near the floor) rotated so that the exhaust portion points about 45 degrees up? Other ideas? Thanks for a great lesson.
Excellent video. Much appreciated. Brilliant method of connecting vent hose. Things done right.
I can just see this “genius” connection getting slightly misaligned, being unable to connect properly, and blowing lint all over the house. Give me the 1960 solution any day – I would, however, install it so there’s not a 180 degree kink in it.
the only thing is magnets lose strength over time (well it takes years)…would suck if it got disconnected from that,, lint everywhere and a fire hazard
Would pass where I live, must have red print "spec approved " aluminum tape, and that coupler would not be approved for a gas dryer. I know yours is an electric dryer. Just saying for others.
Magnets that are exposed to temperatures exceeding 212 degrees F, the magnetic strength becomes compromised
What if you have a stack able wash/dryer, with dryer on top so vent hose has to go down first
Flex hoses are the WORST! They break, split open and the ends never fit properly. I’ve had to use hundreds of products that were poorly engineered. If I had the money I’d invent better products to replace all the crap that’s sold. It’s truly amazing how terrible most products are designed. Flex hoses are ridiculously stupid.
I did this using traditional solid dryer ducting. I just made sure the dryer exhaust perfectly lined up with the drier duct coming out of the wall. Then I carefully slid the dryver back until it was fully connected.
I love the upgrade! Good tutorial. 👍
Where does the other end of the vet go?? The back of my dryer sits against the wall of my garage..I think I can attach the vent to the back of my dryer and through the hole going into the gatprage then up and out the hole in the garage wall near the back door to vent out!
The hot air does not affect the wall?
Does this work for houses where the vent hole is on the floor?
These are great! Very useful. Keep in mind, though…. HD dryers have a sensor telling the machine if the air flow is slow in exiting. This will cause the temp to go down as a precaution. I got a new house with an HD. I put one of these vents on the back, as with all of my previous dryers. Eventually I noticed that the dryer wasn't getting very hot. Finally, after taking 2 hours to dry a load of towels…. I called a repairman. he told me that there is an air flow sensor in most HD units. Mine sensed a slower flow due to the sharp turn, and automatically lowered the temp. He put a normal vent tube on it and I had my hot air back! it is not a danger with the air flow, while using the unit shown in the video. It's the high tech idiots who have to add all the BS on the new appliances. So if your temp goes down a bit after installing one, take it off, put a normal one on (with dryer pulled away from wall) and see if there's a difference… before calling a $100/visit from repairman.
Cute product,
1. trying to make the mount point the same height as the entrance for the external vent of the house does not make a lot of sense to me, seems you would want to make it the height of the entrance to the dryer.
2. The electrical wire going into the dryer, should’ve had the clamp around the black rubber of the cable not the individual wireless. That would be more aesthetic.
3. Looks like the straight piece of pipe was cut about a half inch too short as you can see the piece was not pushed fully into the vent which then at least justifies the tape to cover up with that mistake.
But I appreciate showing off the new products out there, I know that it’s easy to be a couch critic.
That's a very cool 90 degree solution. But do you know that most driers have the option to exit on the side, making the 90 degree turn inside the dryer?
Worth the $
This was another good video. I’m not sure if this is the solution to my problem, but am definitely going to do some measuring. Thanks again!
Freaking brilliant! Thank you for sharing!!
Why not upgrade to modern things going to buy one
Expensive and trouble to install. After installation if need to move dryer few inches left or right then the connection to the duct is off! Not flexible idea unless used the flex ducting and extendable when needed is always better. If the duct is fixed to the wall then you would need to do re-do almost everything when dryer is over moved few inches cuz it needed space on side! This is to considered if installing a fixed piping or duct.
Thanks 😊
The last step – where it clicks with magnets together… how hard is it to uncouple it? Will just pulling the dryer out work? I worry about the corregated aluminum section. 1. Trapping lint and 2. Stretching out to the full 12" long you said it was before the magnets will uncouple. Wouldn't a straight short piece of metal ducting solve both problems? Though I understand the kit comes with the flexible aluminum venting tube.
Who put that electrical pigtail on that machine? That is going to start a fire someday and burn your house and maybe harm your loved ones.
we just bought a ventless heat pump dryer. dry time is a little longer but really not that noticeable
Looks great! also, it should be must safer with no kinks to build up dryer lint…thank you!😊
👏👏👍
Brother could you make video replace shower cartridge Moen thank you
it still looks like the dryer is stickion out from the wall – couldn't you shorten the accordian section?
That's very cool.
In 2024 you may actually use a heat pump dryer to stop wasting energy and avoid sucking in unfiltered air into your house through every crack.
That looks great
I'm about to do something similar. To minimize the gap between dryer and the wall, can I cut in to the drywall?
Use a battery leaf blower every three months to blow the lint out of the vent piping. Disconnect the pipe at the dryer and slip the nozzle into the pipe or flex. Have someone outside taking a video. You will be shocked at what comes out
You mentioned in the video that this product was only good for electric dryers, is it due to the higher heat caused by gas drier, if you know? Do they make one for gas dryers and if so, what model is it?
Thanks for the video.
The height of the vent on the exterior wall isn't necessarily the height of your vent on the back of the dryer
Just have to hope the dryer doesn't move. Some will move a bit if they have an unbalanced load
What is the exhaust hole is up higher up
Good
MV90: $68.90
Just installed the MagVent 90. Thanks for the great video. I'm extremely pleased with the new look!
