  1. I left a comment in the first video that explains more, but I'll briefly say it here too: These cards were out of damaged Falcon NW workstations from Meta. Never taken apart by me, and I highly doubt they were at Meta. They were basically brand new aside from the physical damage.

  2. Has to make you laugh that as the cards have gotten obese with so much cooling/ weight there is still the insane need to have it directly interface with the MB. I cannot see why these cards could not be mounted in the box and just run leads for the interface and the I/O. Great vids I have learnt a lot from listening to your commentary as you work.

  3. You just need to adjust your warranty policy for certain fixes – you can't just have a blanket policy. Or just consider it a no fix and avoid the future hassle.
And the fact that they are there in the first place generally shows the level of care – why does anyone invest that much money and then treat it like shite is beyond me.

    25 mins – "Goodbye"
Glances at video to see 10 minutes left
    Don't think so…. 😉

  4. You have to be able to make exceptions to warranty work. Repair of a ripped PCB should be one of those exceptions that you tell the customer before you even start the job. Upon acceptance of the repair not being warrantied work, proceed. Otherwise, pack it up and send it back.

  5. So what you says that If I have to do it , forget the crack repair and go directly to the PCB swap ?
How much do you charge for this job if I can ask ? (work only, without the PCB)

  6. The glue residue is indicative of a company inventory barcode sticker. Stuck on the PCB above the PCI-E slot because that's the same location for every card regardless of cooler that's universal and less likely to get accidently removed with installing or removing. Cards probably died, scanned out of service, sticker removed, and sold off or sent to a recycler who sold them

  7. My 2080 had 20 ripped traces from a crack in the pcb (my first ever gpu repair) and its still going strong with about 20/30 insertions… But its also a two slot blower card with no sag, so its a best case scenairo.

Right now im working on a 3080ti with missing memory channels A & F, both had ripped pads under the lowest chips to the slot connector, luckily the core had no ripped pads, but there were two grey pads underneath. I fixed most of the ripped pads but i missaligned the chips on channel F during reflow so this week im going to finish reballing the core and i have two more pads to fix under channel F0 from my last removal.

  8. I have one of the Zotac 4090s and they even go as far as sending you a magnetic stand with instructions on how to set it up right so the GPU isnt under so much stress. So I really don't know how people don't consider or brush over that with such an expensive card

  9. Hey Tony, as usual.. what a beauty. Nice, precise work. We need to start having star points for customers sending cards, who manages to not pack properly and break few strong weld points, and dent the plates, cards etc..👍👍
