  3. All fine and good ONLY if the computer recognizes the device in the first place… My device wasn't dropped, had no power surge wasn't removed while being written to etc. 512GB backup lost. Have other backups, so data is safe. 100% of the vids on YouTube "assume" the drive is recognized….

  5. My flash drive will enter the formatting stage, but after 5 hours it hasn't moved from 0 percent. Disk cleaning also didn't work before that. Are there any other options for me? I've tried everything else – disk check "chkdsk" reported no errors. There's nothing on the drive that needs recovering. Help!
