  1. Love that you also put the castle wall high enough that the headhunters couldn't jump over them XD. I really don't think they considered that you would try that so it is hilarious that they complain in the dialog that they apparently "jumped right over" when they clearly didn't XD

  2. Like I said in the previous episode, I actually did rebuild the entire outer wall of the castle. And you are correct that it did take all day, and felt satisfying to do.

So we're not there YET but eventually you will get that one magical item that is important to the plot. One interesting thing you can do is take it back to Furrowfield and show it to one special little villager and you'll be able to get someone else to bring back to the Isle of Awakening.

  3. 20:35 You like it or because you know what’s going to happen?

29:00 If you want to get rid of the broken blocks inside the walls I highly recommend re equipping the sledgehammer. You saw previous episode that they cannot destroy castle blocks with the bigger bash, It’s the whole reason you have to make the war hammer, but it does destroy the broken blocks. Makes it easier to replace. Especially if you want to rebuild the walls.

33:56 notice that during this whole time, There were NO monster attacks. You can make easy use of that knowledge to build in peace.

35:00 If you’re smart enough, you’ll be able to achieve this for almost every fight.

38:50 That was my building room in my first playthrough. Planted medicinal herbs on the grass outside and was ready to go.

45:20 Those crow like creatures are the most annoying of all. They do drop materials fort he forge though just in case you don’t have infinite yet.

  4. This is why I enjoy watching good Let's Plays of this game, because I always learn something new. This time I was surprised by one of your battles. I always thought those jumpers would hop over a three block high wall. I could have sworn I tested this once as well and they jumped right over it. I'm wondering if this was changed with a patch or something.

2:52 The story of this chapter gets kinda ruined by how much they hammer in the spy business. The story has some pretty good subtle foreshadowing, however it lights up like a lighthouse with how unsubtle this spy business is. The story doesn't even try to hide the fact that there is actually a spy.

8:46 You won't confuse the game and soft-lock yourself, when you give all the soldiers Steel Broadswords. However it won't compleet the quest. For that you do need to give a couple of iron broadswords to the NPC with a marker above their heads to complete the quest and progress the story. For the rest I always wait until a scripted battle before giving the NPCs better weapons. They crawl like ants through one another and it is easy to lose track of who already got a better weapon.

8:57 I was wondering how long it would take you to notice that you hammered the scarecrow.😁

15:00 You are pretty early in the night thus that would make more iron. The game calculates how much ingame time you are skipping when sleeping and thus how much iron would have been done in that time if you didn't skip.

17:52 I'm not too certain about this, but I think Oomph is the spell to increase attack power. I think Buff and Kabuff are spells to increase defense. Oomph is cast when you will use the banner later on in the story.

38:12 Those Zapphires (with double P) are a reference to the spell Zapp from the Dragon Quest RPGs. Many of the magical contraptions you will build are actually references to spells. I don't know why the Zap Trap is spelled with one P in Zap though.

43:50 In this chapter relying on food for healing is not the best thing to do. The immediate area around the castle has a bunch of medicinal shrub that you can plant in the courtyard. Harvesting those may yield medicinal leafs. However the best method for healing is to have a bed with you at all times. Withdraw from battle to safety and put down the bed to rest in. Monsters don't chase you everywhere. There are enough safe spots to sleep.

47:21 If you are talking about that character, than you haven't done the DLC yet. There is one character that blatantly resembles a character from the first game and that is a character that is completely unique to this game. They also make a joke about that in some optional dialogue. Also Nosh (the fisherman) from the first game is referenced in that DLC.

49:54 It is a good idea to make a simple kitchen at the moment, because the villager will cook food for you. You don't need to do things by yourself. Also planting the wheat is definitely a good idea to do now. Because like I put in the comments last time. As soon as the soldier training begins, you lose the use of the farmer. That means you won't be getting anymore tilled soil.

50:22 In Builders 1 only the PS3, PS4 and Vita versions had the number of ingame days as a chapter challenge. In all other versions that challenge was replaced by the number of different items collected during the chapter.

  5. Honestly, it kinda felt like the Zap Traps didn't do much considering the walls being very high, some overhangs too. Definitely didn't stop the big guys in the later parts…

  6. A while back when I replayed DQB2 I had a set goal to fully build each town far beyond whats required. We're talking buildings with actual roofs, furnished rooms with proper floors, and my own personal workshop. It was a fun self challenge having to rely purely on what was available in the chapter, even made a secondary goal of swiping children of hargon items to make little secret shrines hidden somewhere in town.

This chapter tho was by far the biggest undertaking. The chapter is already rough with the constant monster attacks hampering building, so it was best to wait until the lull periods with no attacks to work on fixing up the place. And unlike the first two towns I had to rebuild the outer wall and the castle itself. But by the end I managed to bring the entire castle back to full glory, even having room to place some buildings on the roof and a garden in the back courtyard.
