  1. I live in Michigan. I started using rust conditioners in the 80's. I read the instructions……It said to clean and degrease the surface. If I tried to get the rust off, I wouldn't have had anything left.

  2. 1. You need an apprentice to do the simple stuff… 🙂

    2. What about a laser rust remover?

    3. 1989 Buick Electra Estate Station Wagon owners manual states that a light amount of rust on the frame actually increases the strength of the metal….

    4. Keep up the great work.

    5. Whatever, send me my Auto trader magazine in the basket…😅

  3. Another fact about rust converter products : "double dipping" is not allowed , if the brush touch the rust it must not touch the interior of the container . If you "double dip" you have to use the whole container or dispose the rest.

  4. Ok, I guess I'll be that guy, but should be wearing a respirator while spraying the deadener. Not trying to be an ass, just trying to keep you around 😀

  5. maybe I only see it cause I'm bodyman by trade. but your wheel well patch, to me is more time and effort than it would've been to replace the whole panel. also weld and doubled seam is now more ridged there than it is originally, probably fine with old car. absolutely big hell no on modern cars. because of crash tasting, you don't change the easy shits together cause it'll change the way the safety crash is

  6. Well I have to say that I am really disappointed in this build and where this car will be left off at as far as I am concerned anyway. The video of this car being took apart and seeing what all metal needed to be replaced was one of if not the first video I watched on this channel. I thought after seeing it that this channel might actually be one of the old school YouTube channels that gave car guys the type of content they wanted with as few commercials as possible but I was wrong. It turned out to be just one long infomercial after another with limited car builds. Pretty clever marketing I have to admit, making the infomercial the star of the show and the car content not much more than a cameo/guest appearance. I was really wanting to see that car get at least back on some wheels and in primer but wants, wishes and dreams are things said by those that never do.

  7. My wife asked me what kind of expensive car or truck I would buy if we won the lottery. I backed up the question and told her a smaller house with a much bigger garage. Then I would buy old cars and trucks to wrench and bang on. My 2016 V8 F150 is all I need as my daily. She wants a Porsche Cayenne GTS which shocked me but sounds like a fun car to drive. Watching Jared fuels my dream of someday getting this accomplished lottery or not.

  8. For the rust converter question – I actually had Rustoleum explain that to me once upon a time. Way back when support lines actually took calls, so it wasn't common sense to me at the time either. Without the rust, there were ingredients in Rustoleum that couldn't be absorbed…and I went….HUH.

  9. don't worry too much about it, there's always gonna be some rust left unless you melt the entire thing to a puddle, you just didn't have to spend that much time on grinding it down.

  10. Rust conversion on the cheap waterblast loose rust then degrease and finally paint with Phosphoric Acid. Phosphoric Acid converts rust breaking down the iron oxide and converting it to iron phosphate, which is black in colour. This inert layer then acts as a barrier layer or protective coating. You can then Prime and Paint. This is used in steel boats exposed to salt water they leave steel exposed to rust so they can treat it prior to paint.

  11. With the prices going up and up it’s very worth doing our older cars the right way… Mopar’s specifically are EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE…😮
I found this out when I was looking for the old Plymouth Fury with the Police Package without the patrol car holes and with the Commando440… in alpine white
Yeah I can’t afford it so I got an older Lincoln instead…

I don’t wanna know what my grandmother’s old ‘68 Dodge dart GT-S in Hunter green with white interior and white bumble bee stripe, matching steel wide wheels with beauty rings and dog dish caps would go for now.

    Also… Love the pups!!!!

  12. Jared, honestly, all of the air conditioner and fan noises isn't a problem. We would rather have you blowing fans on you to keep you alive then you worrying about the audio because with a lavalier, we hear you fine. Keep those fans on and stay cool. We can hear you!

  13. I have a question, Jared. Let me preface this question with a short statement. I don't expect it on this project. That being said, will you be doing a video on panel adhesives in the future, or do you have one already? I looked and may have missed it if you already have a video on it. And there is nothing wrong with "white" if that is what you like.

  14. Continue to love the work you do Jared! Also, lol, I did get a chuckle at the lotion/hose bit…it landed for me haha. Keep up the great work!! I'm super, SUPER keen to see how the Satellite goes…I know it's gonna be awesome!

  15. Really, just had to make me feel older with the Wild Bill reference? Love it anyway and love the content as I'm just the same in the questionable decisions in life. Keep it rolling
