Can you do I video on the best method for removing snapped head gasket bolts that are rusted in the power head on a 9.5
Hey T-Mike great video by the way…I have a question for you about a 5.5hp 1960 Evinrude do I have to remove the power head to replace the water pump sir?.
I enjoyed this video and all the steps solving the leak!
Would you touch a 57 Johnson rd-19 35 Gearcase if I needed it resealed?
Larry from folsom have a 1956 Mercury 40 up needs restoring came off a astro craft 14 ft beautiful boat in the process of restoring if the motor is not locked up barn keep for 40 years have the original controlled don't have the money needed now but will soon let's talk thanks
You have way more patience than I do! 🙂
That's crazy the amount of leaks it has…
I never liked those 10hp LU's after '57 as they went to the 4 bolt gearcase. It was wimpier.
I always put the sealant around the screw holes on the skeg also. Works to seal. Never had a screw leak that I know of.
You don't need to destroy the the shift bushing when you take it out by tapping it. I use a 2' long 5/16" metal rod ground down to a point on one end and hammer it out from the other side. I always reuse mine. Have never replaced one in my life. A long as you change the rubber O ring you're good to go.
What does the “T” in T-Mike stand for?
I seen an oil slick behind my '54 5.5 Johnson. I took the power head off and dropped the LU and noticed LU oil in the impeller housing and the LU was full of water. I ordered the seal for the drive shaft, so hopefully that's my problem. Good detailed instructions, Thanks.
