I think just about every one I knew started out with one of these or a similar model. I think I actually still have mine somewhere. Oh the memories!
Great video. Sony made stuff back then that still works. Those R2R decks were built like tanks.
I just recapped and replaced the transistors in my Akai GX 4000D now its a superb RTR.
