I'm not the biggest Nintendo gamer either, but sometimes the good natured fun some of their games provide is just what one needs.

1:08:00 For games with overgrown towns/buildings, the three S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games : Shadow of Chernobyl (2007), Clear Sky (2008) and Call of Pripyat (2009). Modders have since combined the locations from the three games into a single one, and turned it into an almost sandbox survival experience where you can do what you want, add tons of mods, and fine-tune it to your liking. The current reference for this in 2024 is S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly. Some mods repacks for Anomaly have made the installation of many additional mods at once easier for new players. Nothing compares to the immersion, the emotions I've had and the number of hours I've spent in heavily modded S.T.A.L.K.E.R. builds, from my days on Call of Chernobyl in 2017 to my current personalized S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly in 2024 (currently 408 active mods…), it would be too long to explain. Listening to music under the rain at a campfire in the wilderness, getting scared by mutants jumping at you from a bush, exploring abandoned buildings or the swamps with a flashlight…
