  1. I reviewed a lot of tire pressure gauges in this review. Here's the list and more details in the video description. A big thanks to everyone who suggested this topic, and I look forward to reading your comments!!

  2. It’s really good that you tested two samples rather than one, but did you buy the two from different sources? If not, you likely got two examples from a single production run or batch.

  3. Great information. I weight things a bit differently. Family members "borrow" and "share" my tools. While the old Corvair I wish I had would need accuracy in the 16psi range for front tires, my EVs are 36psi all 4 corners. I can buy a dozen UNCO pencils and be accurate within 1/2 psi. Drop testing onto concrete floor from table height 1/2 dozen times could have been an interesting test; also running over it on said concrete floor. UNCO will sustain less than $2 damage.

  4. Do you ever get responses from companies inquiring about why their products did not perform the way they anticipated? Such as asking for Serial Numbers mfg date ect. to try and improve their products?

  5. I have been waiting for this comparison. I have purchased at least a dozen different tire gauges over the past 3 years, mostly analog but a few digital, and none have been satisfactory. I will be buying a Jaco Digital and a CZ Auto to test, and hopefully they perform as well as they have in this video. Thanks for another great video.

  6. I’d never ask you to get more than 2 gages to show variance, but the difference here doesn’t surprise me at all. All kinds of gages are often 25% different, completely infuriating when you need accuracy and your shop cheaps out on calibration services.

  7. Over the years I tried several of these gauges, had the worse readings from the basic pencil gauges like Milton, seem so 50 years ago they was more reliable. Had the Tiretec few years ago, that worked good for couple years then it wouldn't hold pressure when off valve stem, I need it to hold pressure so I can read it accurately off tire, not a fan of reading tire pressure upside down like a monkey. I now used the Astro-AI, seems ok til over 60 PSI
Think now I'll go with your pick on the Jayco gauge………..
Do a chalk-line test, I cant seem to fine a caulk-line this side of Heaven that lays down a good clear highly viable line every time………….

  8. I'm glad to know the Merlin inflator that I've been using for a while scored so high.
Your methodology and attention to detail in the tests is second to none.

  9. Another great video. I often use your videos as a "buyers-guide". I then look up the ones I want to consider online. Your videos have led to several good purchases. I have several air pressure gauges that I have gotten over the years. Some I have bought, a few were free from vendors, and my favorite one was my grandfather's (probably from the 1940s). I keep them in the car, bicycle bag, in my mountain biking kit, and in the workshop. Mostly I use infiltrators that have gauges built into them. I never really thought that they might be inaccurate, and I haven't checked them, even against each other. I will have to do that. Now you have me questioning the digital psi accuracy of the air pumps at the convenience stores I use.

  10. Well, every metrologist has left the room. Good review though. Worth noting that references to "accuracy" related to % need to specify if that rating is for percentage of reading or percentage of full scale. If an instrument isn't effected by altitude does that mean that it's measuring psia rather than psig?

  11. I can tell you that any of those analog spring style gauges, (The ones with the copper trim rings) will be off if it is ever dropped.
Also I think it would have been worth saying that accuracy will depend on scale. If you are measuring passenger car tires a 0-60 is much more accurate than a 0-120 truck / semi tire gauges.
I would personally recommend the digital to the general public.

  12. Wow, it's so important to see how far off these pressure gauges can be. I am definitely going to replace my older ones with one of these. The issue I have with digital gauges is the batteries either drain over time or start to corrode. Probably lithium based ones are better off with this.

  13. I love all of your reviews. You do a very thorough job. I am still waiting for flease and flannel lined jeans. My opinion is Wrangler flease lined with 3m thinsolate are the best for the buck. Hope to see them in your reviews soon. Maybe there is a better one. Maybe a test would be a hot water bottle in a pant leg in a freezer for an hour. And a wind resistance test. Thank you in advance for testing this situation!

  14. 4:57 I couldn't own one of those Etenwolf pistol grip type models because I would easily confuse it with the red and black kitchen torch I carry in my door pocket. No, I don't make creme brulee while driving, it's a more comfortable way to heat up solder seal connectors and heat shrink tubing and since I drive old junk I more often than not have to make "adjustments" on the side of the road.
