  1. Gettin spoiled with all these 2 hour Mortske videos and Puddin collabs, fastest 2 hours to go by cause I stay glued to the video. You can run power direct to the field wire (full field) and it will charge just fine but you might have to bump the idle slightly to compensate for the extra load. If the ammeter shunt has an open or the bulb is open it won't excite the field, better to just dike out the ammeter entirely and install a decent voltmeter, much less of a fire hazard and more useful information. Or just do like you said and go with the 1 wire GM style internally regulated whirlycharger. For the carb, a little bit of modification and an adapter and an Autolite 2100 2bbl will bolt on, much easier to find good rebuildable 2100 cores or you can just buy a knockoff Chinesium 1140 copy but you better expect to have to rebuild it out of the box. Also, reroute the fuel line with a bend to not come in along the exhaust manifold, or don't be a dumbass like my pops and use a plastic filter with cheap spring clamps, fuel + bad clamp + hot exhaust = how we got to rewire our '66 Mustang and paint a hood…and why we are glad we always carried a fire extinguisher. The 200 and 240 were both notorious for the frontmost upper exhaust manifold bolt snapping off at the "ear" or the ear itself breaking off, then you couldn't get a long enough thread to torque the manifold down and they would leak. The flange would also crack between the 2 frontmost cyls. Those exhaust bolts are tough SOB's to tap in-frame, it can be easier just to pull the head to fix, and you can do a quick de-carbon on the valves and head and piston tops if needed, and check the timing chain and gear while you're in there. PS if you ever make 4 or 6 hour videos i'll watch those too.

  2. Air conditioner window and I have been fortunate enough to get my keys that the girlfriend locked in it and I almost had a easy time. Don't need the drop and slam to the ground. It's just fine unless you are old enough to need it lower slam by Mortske repair. Don't worry it is only cash if you want to really drop it. I'm going to say that it will ride just fine the way it is. Fire up the beast engine and the 300 is King but you have the smaller beast

  3. I’ve never had a carb kit that 100% fit the carb it claims to be compatible with. Always extra parts, gaskets with too many/missing holes, and instructions that were the inspiration for IKEA furniture.

  4. Hey mort I know u are a busy man but hope u and duff and chin and mojo are staying cool and hope all of u stay classy thanks too all of u for the amazing content have a great rest of the week

  5. I feel like if a gal owned this when all the work was done that they may have seen a gal coming and didn't give her or the vehicle the respect they both deserved. That happened a lot in the day.

  6. my folks have a 55 ford f500 bucket truck with a ford 240 an iv been havin a bear of a time with it, always high idles no matter the carbs on it, got a chinesium carb to try out sometime, im just dumbfounded on it an cant figure out why

  7. After changing a coil on my old Honda CT 70, I still didn’t have spark. I performed the Mortske Flick on the points and like magic I had spark.😀 Great find with the old Ford!

  8. What's with the 66 Malibu 2 door hardtop? Looks like she's a 283 car. My 67 Malibu Sport Coupe started pretty much the same way, but a bit more complete….actually bought her running and driving in 1987 for 1200 bucks off a consignment lot in the CA SF Bay area. Cali car, so no rust to speak of. Man, that's one thing I don't miss about living in the rust belt, all that damn RUST! I am spoiled here in Cali! Oh, and I think that giant fly thing is a Cicada.
