I’m came back to have another attempt at the Wonder scenario during my AGE OF EMPIRES 1 campaign gameplay today. Things take an interesting turn towards the end as I attempt to destroy the wonder with just one unit! Can I do it?

  1. Moreover, it's always interesting to watch these, because I have the Definitive Edition and never palyed the original. And that makes your series more exciting, for some missions have been changed.
    Thank you!

  2. I adore the old cinematics. Cannot believe how you won xD Was on the edge of my seat wondering if yellow would wake up and defend the wonder. Honestly attacking brown first seems to be the play. Hit him before he beefs up, get him off gold asap so he cant spam units. Take his gold and then the rest of the game you have all the gold you could ever need against two enemies trapped in their own walls :O
AOE1 i was always a MASSIVE fan of hoplites and towers. Hoplites and their upgrades are god tier melee units which i think your civ specialises in too. As Cipix said, a few of them and you can defeat overwhelming numbers (as long as they dont convert your units)
Glad you got the win !

  3. All right, I didn't get the first comment in a while :)))). Since you felt the need to go on easy I'll give you some extra tips.
    1) The second attempt was pretty good, on trying to take down brown Persia. If you just didn't send the cavalry to die pointlessly. They should wait for the rest of the army. It's definitely possible to take down brown although I don't think it's really beginner friendly.
    2) On the last attempt it was the best takedown of red so far. In my experience difficulty does not affect them. Since they don't move anyway, unless provoked.
    3) Brown does not rebuild catapults, so after you take down the 2 they have at the beginning, you are free to build towers, which would be a very solid defense. Don't forget you start near stone mines!
    4) You can also make gold via trade, since yellow player has a dock. (this is a bit of an extra tip, but not the one I was talking about in the comment from previous video)
    5) The best Greek unit is the Centurion from the academy, which is also arguably the best unit in the game, much much much stronger than Legions and cavalry, even elephants. It also costs less gold than the cavalry. You need to research a bit the strengths of each civilization. -> maybe play some random games like in AOE2
    6) Please don't say the scout is useless, yes it's weak, but its strength is the big line of sight. (Depends on the current age though) It's very useful for well, scouting.
    7) Since I feel you probably won't retry this on Moderate anytime soon, I'll also reveal the secret trick. Drumroll please.
Your catapults can reach the yellow wonder from outside the walls from the top left corner. That way you also don't open his walls. All his units are trapped inside until you destroy the wall.
