  1. the compute puk thing kind of got rolled into desktop mode on some smart phones, i use samsung dex on a daily basis, i get home and plug my phone into a dock and use that for all my basic internet needs and light gaming (via xbox cloud). i have a gaming PC that i use when what i'm doing needs a little more horsepower but for daily surfing, comms, etc that is sufficient

  2. I don’t speak on behalf of all turbo-nerds out there because speaking isn’t really our thing anyway. I am however confident that many others also consider Dan to be a part of our Pantheon.

  3. An individual can replicate this technology easy with less than $700 right now (we will prob have an open-source project finished in a few weeks). Meanwhile when apple released the iphone, no individual could even come close to replicating its technology at the same cost. It took multimillion dollar companies years to master the iphone. Also, there is something that probably works better right now, a smart watch with chat gpt integration.

  4. 9:40 As the owner of a Beats branded HP laptop from 2012 with hopelessly wimpy speakers that force me to use headphones during work meetings and which I am typing on right now, I would have expected it to mean absolutely nothing.

    Color me surprised.

  5. 20:47 this just made me realize that the device is Issac from The Division. AI powered shoulder computer that can detect enemies around you and project images onto the area around you to highlight items, like a virus sitting on a surface.

  6. "Is any amount of you open to being wrong?" What a beautiful, sincere, inviting, and kind way to challenge someone's opinion.

I wrote that down to use! Great question.

  7. Why? Why was IMAX bragging about their in-screen surround-sound speakers for the last 20+ years when this whole time(!) their technology was the horizontal running of the film to get more resolution out of the same width of tape? I thought imax did acoustics or something. Why!?

  8. Whenever I see the words "startup" and "hundred million" together, my mind goes straight to "okay, justify it. Justify why all that money is necessary and how you're using it, beyond wiping your asses with $100 bills…" Sorry, but a million dollars is enough to start anything, 100 mil, let alone 200 mil, is an insane amount of money, that is unjustifiable unless you're literally building fabs for everything in-house and have 200+ highly skilled employees

  9. 4:30 You're neglecting the biggest selling point. Blind people… They wont use the laser projector, but having an AI assistant and unlimited usage, for less than a smartphone, that's a pretty stellar deal…

  10. The AI pin is a complete privacy nightmare and whomever uses one of these things is literally paying to have all their data being held ransom by a single corporation and having all their data being used to train a model.

The 'idea' of it is awesome IMO, but let's be real, this is capitalism and data is the most valuable thing in existence today.
