I was excited to learn that Apple has an official Activation Lock removal process! Could I have been wrong about Activation Lock all along? I’ll try the process on 21 old iPhones.

  1. Great video, I'm not in the refurb business but I did accumulate 3 Apple devices throughout the years. 1 iPad found in the trash and 2 Locked MacBook's purchased from eBay. These locks should automatically expire after a certain amount of time. Such a waste!!! They're just going to end up in a dump somewhere. They're just banking on people buying new devices PURE GREED!!!

  2. You're doing good work and I've been on this mission before. SickW is a great tool that actually provides real product info. I was trying to reunite a lock mode iPad 9 5G to its owner, but Apple would not help or provide an email address. Isn't contact info displayed on lock-mode devices? This iPad had been reset so that information wasn't displayed nor was FindMy (using a personal device) helpful in contacting the owner.

In the end, I walked into an Apple store, left it on a counter and walked out. 🤞

  3. please redo this video white the mic 🎤 further away you mouth 👄 very hard to listen when the lisp distort the Audio 😢 good video otherwise. only hard to listen to. or try a mic gard

  4. 1. Activation Lock is linked to the iPhone's motherboard.
    2. Apple recycles 90% of iphones so just bring them to one of our stores to minimize environmental impact.
    3. It's a gamble to purchase devices that were owned by orgs or insts.
    4. The only proof of purchase that counts is the one from the original first owner of the iPhone's motherboard.
    5. If you buy an Apple device second hand, ALWAYS ask for the original proof of purchase to avoid any issues.
    6. Comming soon if people have questions.

  5. There is mistake you did in the description. You wrote these devices are from donating Institutions. Apple clearly states that they are unable to unlock any devices that is owned by Institutions or managed by any such, Also they never accept unlocking phones in bulk. They considered these devices were managed by Institution. I recommend you change your phrase, remove the word Institution rather just directly say you brought from recycler and It is locked due to previous owner being careless as It's legitimate as It is not reported as lost phone. Give a try! But try one device at a time with invoice consisting one device serial number and not bulk.

  6. I always do this for my company when they are not managed yet and the employee left the company and can no longer reach the employee. I also try to do this before I get rid of them mostly unless they are really thrash. They actually will unlock it for you if you provide the invoice with serial numbers from the company you bought it from when they were new together with the serial numbers on a spread sheet, as employee of the company who bought them there. so basically everyone at a company needs to stop being lazy and just follow the process unlocking them before recycling them. They will know if you lie usually. Some (former) collegues tried this at former companies they worked at to make things up and were not successful.

  7. I used to work for Apple Retail. In the early days of Activation Lock, if a customer came in with a locked phone I could unlock it on my Apple checkout device. All I needed was a manager to log in and the device was unlocked. That process later became more complicated and required an invoice and then not long after that the process disappeared altogether.

  8. I picked an iPhone up from a charity shop.
It turned out to be locked — no way I would ask them for a refund.
Such a shame Apple is treating charity shops & buyers like me – as thieves.

  9. Time for a class action lawsuit over this. Activation lock is a legitimate anti-theft tool, but Apple’s implementation is monopolistic and serves their self-interest.

  10. Surely the seller of these to you will have contact details of the original institution's IT dept who can validate they're no longer on the books?

What sucks is that the argument of "oh, but I own them, please give" means that you're scale of scammers is too damn high for such a premium product.

Here's hoping Apple establishes a refurbishment program for verified business like you that allow them clout to remove activation lock from "ah whoopsie daisy" hiccups from IT.

  11. So, until further notice, this "offer" from Apple is fake, then…

Doesn’t help there is a procedure, known or uknown, if it isn’t possible to actually get devices unlocked because of draconian hidden rules.

  12. I'm pretty surprised that this is really working method. I used it to unlock ipad pro 10.5 with unrelated invoice.

I think even device locked with previous owner's account but lock status is clean, so bot automactically unlock it

I'm not those seller kind, just average academy student so who ever see this video then wants to try, those reddit post is true

  13. I've given them the eBay order confirmation/order information from an iPhone I got 4 years ago, and they want more information (invoice, receipt, etc)….I got the iPhone to fix as it said it was parts or not working (broken screen, dead battery, untested, etc). I think when there is an order number and it's already delivered; that should be plenty. Plus I have all of their required information for the device. They also won't help with a hand-me-down iPhone where my sisters aunt ghosts us when we ask them to remove FMI. And it's not like they're gonna take it back, I got that mfker with me until she coughs up that removal.

  14. i successfully could unlock a icloud locked iPhone 12 with the original bill and it worked but i had to wait a week for a response but it worked and that even without restore. so give it a try
