Knowing apple. They will probably release a phone without a battery at all and instead you'd have an external battery pack (not included with the phone) that will transfer energy wirelessly.
Cant wait for iphones to only work with "apple batteries" that conveniently for apple have to be changed really often.

Hmm.. Good on paper, but you need to take into account battery failure and expansion. If the battery expands in that LG wouldnt it be near impossible to get it out?

i'm sure the phone will be bound to the battery by software, there's no way apple will just let everyone change their battery without paying at least an extremely unreasonable price

If i remember there are specific rules when battery still can be non removable. Like high capacity, durability etc. So, most likely removable battery won't come to an iPhone

I hate when there's government regulation forcing companies to do the "right thing".
If companies do what's right by the customer, then they'll be happier and more loyal.
This is a good idea, like moving to USB-C. It'll reduce e-waste, force competition because third parties can now make batteries that aren't sketchy (20 AHr my butt!), and make it easier for end users to use the product they paid for.
Like I said though, I just wish that this was due to company innovation and competition vs government mandates.

You can bypass the regulation if the device is built to work underwater. From 2027, the iPhones will then be called „iphone 19 pro max dive.“ I don’t seriously believe that Apple installs replaceable batteries. As much as I like my iPhone and Apple, that will never happen, be realistic.
