  1. The reason why I sold my steam deck, is mainly due to not being able to play my Xbox library. Specifically the d-listed games like Forza horizon 3. If SD allowed me to download my Xbox library (Im not settling for the crap cloud gaming), then SD would be great. I believe I’m going to be getting a Legion Go possibly this weekend

  2. Amazing all in one video! Thanks TTC! For the price, the usability, and the support, Steam OLED for me all the way. But I do have a high end gaming PC, PS5, and an Xbox Series X as well that's why maybe I don't long for 'performance' of other competitors. If I want performance, I'll most definitely would want to experience that on a 4k 50 inch OLED TV I got for those gaming consoles and PC as well.

  3. for a while i was doing facotry shift work and the only way i got to play was on breaks. So my dekstop didn't get much use. Went from a switch, to a steamdeck, to a rog ally and then when i switched to a sit down job I grabbed a xg mobile 4090.

my only complaints withe the xg is the short cable length and heat if you play in handheld. wish they would of opted for a usb 4 port instead of the super expensive gx mobile solution. And the ability to put an external gpu on a side table and use a longer usb cable would be nice and still play handheld in bed etc.

  4. The only good looking is the Legion Go imo.
The bezels are thin, the kickstand is nice.

If you need to play with a keyboard + mouse, it just looks so cool putting the kickstand and removing the controllers !

  5. The Legion Go is the only one with a screen that's big enough. The rest are barely bigger than a phone screen, and I have trouble seeing some of my games when I play game pass on there.

  6. 💥Help please💥
Tying to research on these…Do they have the ability to use the games from xbox and ps5? Does the xbox and ps5 need to be turned on in order to connect? Which handheld do you recommend overall?

  7. I have the OLED Steam deck and the Ally with Extreme chip. I upgraded the storage on both. The Ally is 4gb. I take the Ally everywhere and couldn't even tell you where my Oled Steam Deck is. I am considering getting the Ally X for more RAM and better battery.

  8. Well said that Steam deck is more of a iPhone or Switch kind of experience and I love it, I have never used Windows for past 5+ years so I cannot judge Windows but Steam deck is more easier and user friendly and such a lovely experience 🙂

  9. Legion go all day for me the screen size alone makes my decision for me and the price difference for the ally x is to steep for the extra battery life when you can pick up a power bank to increase battery. I definitely think tho if your just a console user the steam deck would be the option I’d recommended as running games on a pc is more fiddly and it’s more of a console experience.

  10. Another plus for the steamdeck is that Valve is actually a respectable company that stands behind their products. I feel for the sorry folks who bought the og ROG Ally and had any RMA issues with it

  11. I was on rog ally which i loved. Using ayaneo flip ds now and couldnt be happier. This thing plays everything , multitasking and oculink is awesome. Steam deck was my first and it was ok. It sat in my drawer most of the time just didnt feel super comfortable for me.

  12. I've been looking for a handheld and I was fortunate enough that my store had all of these so I could try them and feel which one was the most comfortable, the steam deck for my hands was by far the most comfortable and the back buttons aren't obnoxious/too big or had any weird placements, also considering the fact that I have an oled monitor it's hard to consider anything else. The resolution is the only thing I'm iffy about and also performance compared to the ally fx

  13. There's a few things here that are incorrect, missing from this video:
1.) ALL SteamDecks come with a carrying case, not just the 1TB OLED as he mentioned…
2.) Everyone else says SteamDeck still has the best speakers while Ally X is in very close sedone, you're the only one I've seen saying the Ally X is best (this is an opinion and everyone is entitled to their own)…
3.) Ally X is not the only one with VRR screen, Ally Z1, Z1 Extreme do have as you say later in the video, but as of at this stage, you say its only the Ally X…
4.) Saying the SD is the iPhone of these is a disgrace to the SD, this was a terrible comparison to make as the SteamDeck is not limited like the iPhone and is not a security nightmare like Apple is, phones and computers/handhelds are definatly not wise to use comparisons for as in this case Apple is a big turn off for some and Andriod for others, this should have been cut for sure.
5.) You didn't mention the difference between the Z1 and Z1 extreme for the Ally, this being a buy, don't buy guide is gonna lead to a lot of people not knowing if only watching your video.

As a final note, great video overall but so much misinformation and missing info that if someone watching this video may be mislead.. or uninformed like how all SD comes with a carrying case, and the Lenovo Legion GO as well, where others don't.

This should have been rectified before posting…
Otherwise fairly good video and an amazing looking set.

Also the tips at the end are great ^^

  14. Ally z1 extreme and Ally X never had any issues. Would never rock intel on a handheld. No to the claw. If I hadn’t gotten the allys probably would have gone for the Legion probably. Not a fan of steam decks. That z1 is just too gnarly I’ve gotten more than 1.5 hrs out of the Ally Z1 non X by creating custom tdp settings and dropping screen resolution down a notch.

  15. Started with Steamdeck 512gb model, used it for 8 months, but was hampered by the lack of non-steam games. Sometimes, I want to play Stalker Anamoly, or Vintage Story, but the biggest issue was the lack of ability to install Vortex for mod support. Upgraded to the Ally z1e, and loved it. Just upgraded to the X due to the improvements of everything, including double the battery life. (Selling my z1e after owning it for a year). I know people dont like Windows much, but I love it. I also use AR glasses as an external monitor and have a 60% bluetooth keyboard and mouse, so i have a portable gaming setup that can be used even on a plane.

  16. I am interested in the ROG Ally and the ROG Claw. Specifically, I am curious about the fan noise levels when performing light tasks such as watching YouTube or handling office work. Could you provide details on how loud the fan noise is under these conditions?

  17. meanwhile…

Tinkerer: buys deck, installs windows, overclock, undervolt, increase tdp, make own plugins, have fun exploring steamos and proton, diy cooling, buys cheap 1tb nvme…

also Tinkerer: hm? theyr all PCs, i see no difference but the price…

  18. Honorable mention for best gaming handheld? The thing you use to take pictures. And browse the internet. And send messages. And take calls. And connect to all your other devices. And have much longer battery life. And best of all, you always have it with you. I would argue grab a backbone controller, and if you have a powerful enough phone with a large enough screen (i.e. 15 pro max), many mobile games nowadays are nearly as fun and engaging as PC games. However, I understand these handhelds still have their place for many, many, many people.

  19. Much appreciated for such an in depth review. I had my heart set on the Steam deck, and you sealed the deal for me ! My new 1tb OLED should arrive tomorrow. Simply cannot wait. Cheers

  20. I had an steam deck couldnt get along with it too many buttons 😢 and when i was playing games the amount off times i caught the over touch pad under the buttons and got my self killed 😂 plus most off the games id play wouldnt work on my deck .. has been an while thou but im unsure if thats changed

  21. The Ally X is probably the best currently…but it's also 900$ to get in my hands. At that price, you're not far from a OneXPlayer or GPD Win Max. SDOled is still the best choice for most people. I'm still surprised by what the thing is capable of at less than 15w TDP lol. I really wish the MSI ClawIntel option were more competitive. It would make the market more healthy.

  22. Which one has the least amount of center dead zone? I have the one x player mini pro and they claim it has 0 dead zone but when I play shooter games it’s clear as day that there is some sort of dead zone delay
