The best tool for cutting XPS Rigid foam board insulation. I used a piece of 2in FOAMULAR in the demonstration. I go over the different tools I tried to use and found the one that works the best.
Clean no mess cutting.

Hands down the 9mm snap-off utility knife is the way to go! Thanks for the help!!!
Jigsaw with soft material blade works well if you already have one.
I use a soft ferrous metal blade (looks like a flat metal disk with slots I it) in my 7.5 inch saw. Cuts like butter, straight, no mess, leaves a smooth finish.
Thanks

Can we see a close up of this utility knife so we know what we are looking for?

I need to cut 14 sheets, no time for a 9mm blade….
Your 25mm snap off blade should work fine, all you need to do is sharpen the blade.
Nice job-
Great tip. I bought a combo kit at Home Depot. It came with a 9mm and 18mm knife. I used the 18mm. I made 4 or 5 passes with the knife for each cut. I was very proud of the work. Also, I clamped a strip of 3/4 plywood to the foam and cut gently along the board allowing the 3/4 to square the knife. It made real nice work.
Thanks 😊
Nice job
Hot wire cutter
But will that be to much work cutting length ways? 8ft is a long ways and even longer if like 15- 4×8 panels need to be cut to go between outside floor joist on 2ft centers……………
Excuse me do you have another Amazon link for those please ? The others are currently unavailable 🥲
Sal, you are 100% right!!! I can't thank you enough for this video-the el-cheapo $dollar store blade cutter is the way to go – I did my cuts outdoors just in case, but really didn't need to – thanks again!
Thanks great tips
Is that 250? Didn’t work that well for me.
I just set up my circular saw with a .045 x 6 metal cutoff wheel. I had to make an arbor adapter ring (5/8”x7/8”) which was the only issue with it. Tried it and it makes a fast, beautiful, clean and fine cut without blowing foam all over.
