This is the result of capitalist materialistic thought process. Churches are energy centers similar to cemeteries and should not face arbitrary closing. They take decades to build but that energy remains for millennia. I know dozens of churches which were closed and abandoned for 30, 40 years and now vibrant growing parishes annexing even adjacent lands. Churches need money to run but spirituality shouldn't be extinguished for the lack of it. This is so wrong and your future gens will regret what you all deciding for them. This decline is a temporary phenomena and will rebound in a cyclical manner, once the rigidity of the church is relaxed to cater the future gens.
