China’s Robot Scam Exposed: Counterfeit Fails, Becomes a Joke

“China Observer”

Chinese-made robots are fundamentally a joke. Up until today, they’re still using timing belts and planetary gear reducers. All the talk about domestically produced harmonic drives and RV reducers is just refurbished second-hand imported parts; it’s all nonsense. I wanted to ride the wave of…

  1. It's not just their robots… anything China claims they can do – assume it's 20 years behind the claim. It's like Russia claiming they can go toe to toe with America and then getting dog-walked in Ukraine for this long. It's seriously hard to take the US government seriously anymore when they claim they need more money for defense since it's like… from what? Stuff that was obsolete in the 70's?

  2. China really screwed itself, as evidenced by Russia. There is so much, like robots, that they cannot produce, well or reliably. Hi to attack other countries when there’s so much you cannot produce in-house? Every year they are having terrible floods at one end, and terrible droughts at the other, how much grains will they need to import? We haven’t perhaps sanctioned as well as we should have, but let China try to attack Taiwan and we’ll see how strong the West’s sanction game is now. And how do you build military equipment and supplies in a mass scale when you can’t produce your own advanced chips, and you don have the robots to do the careful work?

  3. Counterfeit Fails? How about no counterfeit but just leading the world. Google it and tell me which robot has the fastest walking speed. Tell me which robot is the only one that can do a full backflip.

  4. Boston Dynamics is a failure commercializing their robots. It is just sold from one owner to another. Guess which company owns Boston Dynamics now. Hahaha.

Btw, Boston Dynamics used to use hydraulic power for their robots, a routine with no future. Now they finally realized that and changed their routine to motor-driven. But Unitree is already one year ahead in full moto-driven robots. Boston Dynamics basically will no longer be competitive anymore.

Google it and some facts here: Unitree H1 has the world record in walking speed, a lot faster than any robots Boston Dynamics has ever made; Unitree H1 is the first robot in the world that can do a full backflip on a flat surface. Boston Dynamics' robot can only do a backflip from a higher surface to a lower one. Unitree H1 is quite expensive with a $90K price. Guess what? They have sold more than 100 of them to research institutes. How many robots has Boston Dynamics sold?
Now Unitree has model G1, only $16K. Any serious competitors you can think of?

  5. Ukraine already did something kinda similar but it doesn't have legs but it have tracks and can bring land mines, ammunitions and evacuate soldiers from the battle field

  6. This is the first time I've heard of Tesla's Optimus (love the name, by the way)

Due to that, I'm wondering whether or not Musk said "the future is robutts" to the CCP in order to get the Reds to burn millions trying to chase something that's stupidly beyond their capacity.

I mean, if Musk said "the future is cold fusion" and displayed a theoretical mockup of a prototype – would there be a dozen CCP companies throwing billions at the pipe dream?

  7. This video is not entirely true. A Japanese company makes the best harmonic gearboxes, this is true. These are available in the free marked, so a Chinese company can buy them and make a high precision robot. The rest of the assembly is machined parts, electronics and software which they are capable of doing. The big issue is Chinese culture and in extend company culture does not promote creativity and creative problem solving. High precision and repeatable robots can be made anywhere in the world using off the shelve components and software, you just need to put some time and creativity to iron out the bugs. Also timing belts and planetary gearboxes are fine. It really depends how you combine all the parts, your required output and target cost. People don't realise that the products China exports to the west are cheap and fiddley because that is what the west is happy to pay for. that applies to robots too.

  8. While it is laughable that this lack of technological know how is exposed, homeboy here putting his face on the internet is certainly a ballsy move considering what the CCP does to people it doesn't favor – just ask Jack Ma !!! 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍

  9. Before CCP, China was a leader in ancient tech, culture and medicine. Now CCP made China lazy, corrupt, dumb and everything is of terrible quality (food, water, buildings, infrastucture, military, etc). You can only steal so much before your tofu dreg collapses on you….I cant wait lol

  10. Sure, sure, China is bad, but then why is the US trying to sanction and tax China at all cost?
I mean as far as i see it, China creates products which can take over the global market easily because China is selling for the average person and not for rich people who buy products for brands not for actual value, not to mention that the US and the majority of the planed gave the production for China, so every brand produces in China, what makes this " China is doing low quality" argument look very silly.

  11. 9:25 I always laugh at this. There is no way a robot dog like this can handle gun recoil. Unless it has better weight distribution (CM must be close to the ground). This shit won't work

  12. "CHINA'S" ALWAYS CLAIMING THEY'RE THAT? THEY'RE THIS? THEY'RE BIG? I "AGREE" BUT BEING 'WELL BIG' DOESN'T MEAN YOU'RE ARE GOOD?.. . .IN WEIGHT YOU'RE HEAVY. . .. .PERFORMANCE YOU'RE SO SLOW AND CANNOT CATCH TO USA, JAPAN, UK, FRANCE TECHNOLOGY. . . . FACTS AND TRUE…."AGREE"? "DISAGREE"2?
