  1. Hi there @IdahoQuadcopter, Thank you for the kind words towards your entire experience with the DJI service. This truly is heartwarming, and we will continue to provide the best customer service experience that we can. The DJI Care Refresh will be transferred to the new one when the new aircraft is activated. Thank you for your support.

  2. Good job, Marcus. When you approach situations with the facts backed by good documentation, present them courteously and respectfully as you did, people often reciprocate, and matters get resolved well in many cases. You set a good example for the community!

  3. Repaired? I have a question sir. Is the DJI the one to decide of they repair or replace it? So they just fix it if its fixable? I thought no matter how small or severe they replace it with brand new one.

  4. When I first got the mini 2 when it came out mine went sideways into an apartment on the first flight and I didn’t have a YouTube channel so no proof and I tried to get it fixed with dji and I got a instant no? I still buy dji but that experience always worries me but they had no choice to repair yours because u had proof, lol.

  5. Thanks for the video. You probably already know, but you can keep the same faa reg number and just edit the serial number from the new drone in the drone zone free of charge. Happy you had good service from DJI.

  6. Hi Marcus…..Thanks for sharing the repair process. Only one thing left to do. Lets Get That Bird In The Air. On another note. I purchased that Anker 100 watt IQ3 charger you mention on Drone Nation. I went for the black one. Definitely a good deal…………..👍

  7. I've always had good interactions with DJI Customer Service from back with my Mavic Pro. The only time I see people complain about DJI is when they are clearly at fault but want DJI to take care of them anyway.

With that being said, keeping it 100, if I were DJI and knew you were purposefully running the drone into a wall to make a YouTube video… Well… Hahaha!

  8. Marcus, glad to hear that DJI did well in responding; i just wish they would have indicated to you the exact reason or admit if they couldn’t determine the reason. Im anxious to see if youll do the same flight again. Glad to hear that DJI was “Texas Friendly”, lol.

  9. Great testing/comparison video. Your experience with the Skydio 2 reinforces my observation with the Skydio system (I have a Skydio 2 and a Skydio 2+). They are superior at obstacle avoidance. But, the AI nav appears to want to go around as opposed to considering an up and over flight when close in to object… and when simply being piloted real time. However, when in a fully autonomous mode such as "cable cam" or "keyframe", for example, it seems that up and over and down and under are considered. [but, this is a moot issue as Skydio no longer is available to just people]

In addition to re-registering the new aircraft with DJI, do you have to register it as a new UAS with the FAA and pay another $5? [I think you may have to do this as a new serial number/new RID number will be in the airspace] … and, technically, do have to file a crash report? [I do not think so as the end cost of repair was under $500].

  10. Great testing of other drones you own that have OA, and all of them did better than the Air 3, even the more budget priced models. But good to know DJI took care of you, and sent you a working drone. Even though they didn't seem to admit that it was any fault of drone, that it hit the wall. I use brake mode most of time, so hopefully that keeps me a bit safer. Thanks for sharing Marcus.

  11. It’s good to see you got a replacement back so quickly. DJI always has great customer service. They really back their products and care about their customers. With a different serial number they just sent out another drone. That’s great news and hopefully you don’t have any more problems with it in the future. I had a little incident with my mini 4 pro. Using Apas on the Trail allowing it to follow me on my ebike. The propeller clipped a small branch and caused the drone to fall. But luckily it wasn’t very high and landed in leaves. I was fortunate to just have to replace a few propellers. Other than that it did great. Obstacle avoidance works great on these drones. But they have a hard time seeing small twigs and branches. Which is to be expected.

  12. Great job! My "guess" is the lack of contrast, aka Monochromatic. Kudos on not aggressively piloting your M3 Pro into Harms Way!!! Interestingly, when I parked my M2 Pro sideways on top of that 73' pine tree over the Payette River years ago, they too examined all of my flight logs and reported that I had the side sensors turned off based on the mode I was flying; hence, the crash. As back then and a newbie to drone flying, I never flew in Sport Mode. Albeit, they called it Pilot Error, but did generously offer a 15% discount on a new replacement. Not knowing enough to debate the issue further, I happily took deal and thanked them for their thoroughness. BTW, DJI automatically transferred the Care Refresh and my "Personal Items" insurance covered the loss entirely. Suffice to say since that incident, I'm always tentative about OA and APAS and haven't crashed since. Super demonstration and don't forget to deregister your demised A3 and register the replacement with the FAA. Thanks for sharing! 😎
