I definitely want to see more of The Menagerie. From what I've seen here and in the rulebook, you guys have got a great system you're building. It manages to weave together concepts and mechanics I've seen and loved across other RPG systems, and does it pretty well.
Having built an insane mess of a crossover RPG setting (involving mostly Shadowrun and the Dresden Files with a LOT of other stuff folded in) using FFG's Genesys ruleset (because I tried to make a Shadowrun character in the then-current edition and decided not to inflict a 6-hour, 2-spreadsheet character creation process on my players), and having run a campaign in that setting, I have to say it made me inordinately happy to see Genesys listed as one of the inspirations for Daggerheart.
What a fun intro one-shot. Would love to see more of this Menagerie! Would love to see more of their backstories be part of arcs if possible, like a trip to their hometowns or making it to Kexon's destination. They could even just be their own one-shots, but I feel like there's a campaign in the works, even a shorter one.
MUST HAVE MORE
Oh boy can't wait for the fan art of bunny ๐ ๐
I donโt not like it. And any dole-played story run by Matt and cast with this crew will be engaging. But it seems like the game
is too complex for me and my friends to run it. Not to play it. Playing it with a good GM is an enchanting idea. But to run it…not so much. A wonderful game presented by a wonderful cast… but where lesser mortals can run 5e, it just seems to me yoy have to be more like Matt to run this one.
I request to be a Guest & play a few rounds with the crew ๐๐
I adored this so much! It feels like the fried chicken era of Critical Role! I have missed the live energy so much!
He's a monkey…and his family are the Dolans…Damn it Liam
A delayed congratulation on 9 years of Critical Role. ๐
This seems like a really good system and I loved everyone's characters, you were all really exploring the space. But given that there is no Ashton I instead have a Fuck & Fack counter for Xarlo.
Xarlo Fuck Count: 2 Xarlo: Fack Count: 4
Oppy is the cutest thing I've ever seen!!!
I'm gonna call it, I like this system better than D&D. Well done Matt and gang, this looks fun. Also, this group needs to become a full campaign, not just a 1 shot.
We need another one-shot where the team is evading an expert hunter who periodically says, "it's wabbit season".
Maybe Campaign 4 can be DH?
More of this please!
More of this please!
Please don't do like Wotc and forget about us Brazilian fans. Consider publishing Daggerheart in Portuguese in Brazil!
Damn, everyone feels so fresh and spontaneous in this game, it gives me the best of the early Campaign 1 vibes!
I love all campaigns, but the livestream plus novelty of the system for everybody is just great ๐
I'm loving the Daggerheart system so far and looking forward to more of the Menagerie, I've been looking over the ancestries and the description of the Clank ancestry got me curious since they can be the form of inanimate objects can they be made as sentient weapons like swords and daggers? I'm really curious to see just how far the form of this ancestry can be taken.
Everyone looked like they were having so much fun. Would love to see The Menagerie come back for future sessions. Maybe a new sessions every other rules update? Definitely got to see some higher level play ๐
The weird foresty/fantasy mixed with fairytale vibes I am absolutely living for with this group lol
Please continue this story, Iโm obsessed!
Sam playing the Himbo is honestly so refreshing and funny
Liam absolutely nailing the irish gramps, feckers an all. Did my soul good
Please do more of this! It is important for the playtest
A lot of us donโt have a group to try daggerheart out, seeing how the game plays will help us give feedback about what we like and what not
Marisha essentially just made a more OTT Faun. Taliesen made a Percy turtle.
Pango feels like the daggerheart version of a black lab. "I'm sorry, I can barf it up if you wan't some" ๐ค
4:06:46 Travis: "Is it fairy good?" Matt: "I'm going to destroy you."
3:50:20 – Street Fighter sounds
This game would make an intense CRPG. It's looking fun
What do people think about letting the players CHOOSE to include the fear die or not, so you could choose to fail, or get a lesser success to avoid using fear.
very quiet mics this episode
Would love another one shot of this! Also, can't wait to DM it!
The way experience actually matters is so cool. I love these experience lines, "sneaky little mushroom" or "look Mom, no hands" and how that provides a plus 2. Such a good idea!!!! GAME CHANGER!!!
I would like to propose a project called Matt as Player. A series of one shots with Matt as player. Especiall with Travis, Laura and Ashley as GM, as Matt hasn't been player when they GM yet.
Would like more of this please ๐ ๐
Moneys, insects, turtles, fungii, frogs and fauns YES this is Fantasy! I always pick the least human looking character. Hard choice between a wizard stag beetle or praying mantis for Travis ๐
I love Critical Role but this was a little to childish for me. I know its an oxymoron to say a game is too childish but it was too ''Toad of Toad Hall' for me. As a young girl in the U.K we were made to read the books and it was way too English for me (I'm Welsh) Was relieved as we got older to read Tolkien, Dylan Thomas, Etc. The best thing about C.R are the relationships, the slow burns.
Don't fucking @ me.
Liam you are brilliant! "If that fecker fell over he'd be halfway home." Guy Ritchie meets tabletop!!
Ok the character art is fantastic shout out to the artists.
Want to see more, but now it's gonna need an intro with a new song from the new bard!
