Hey everyone let me know what you think of this one, was a BIG OLD game to review! Mark
I couldn't get into the first game, I didn't mind the difficulty, but the management systems didn't quite click with me, but I could definitely understand the appeal. I did try this one, and despite the messy UI, and brutal RNG I've found myself having a more enjoyable time, I can see this being a fun hardcore roguelike for long trips I got to make for work.
No, it is not
Oh man, I adore the second game so much more than the first. I'm so tempted to get it on switch too.
It's good to know that the game runs alright mostly on switch
Would like to check this out, if only I could stop playing Slay the Spire. I have a problem.
Loved the first one even though I never actually finished it. This seems like a more manageable experience.
Tried the first one three times and gave up all three after 2-3 runs. I loved the atmosphere and the gameplay but the difficulty is too high for the way I wanted to play it , casually, like other roguelike deck builders
I finally got around to finishing the first one and it was quite the experience. I've heard some mixed opinions about part 2. BTW, my go to build for the hardest parts was 3 Armored Old dudes casting dodge and the Bleed Guy with the whip.
Darkest Dungeon II looks great, but have enough meltdowns in real life without having one in a game
Got this on PC seriously thinking of double dipping on switch
My main concern was the UI. I tried to get into the first one, but the UI on console is terrible, really seems like it wasn't designed with a controller in mind. So I've been looking forward to this and hoping that the UI would be better, and it at least LOOKS a lot better, but I'm bummed to hear the UI specifically called out. I'll have to watch some more gameplay š¤
Added to the wishlist! Only recently got the first one but I'm loving it, and the idea of each character having their own story sounds awesome.
Dig some lovecraftian gothic stuff, but looks like it can wait a bit!
I still have part one sitting in my backlog, not gonna lie Iām a little intimidated and scared to start š
I really like the tone and aesthetic, but I was already overwhelmed by the first game š Maybe this is my sign to actually sit down and put some effort into it. Great review btw!
One thing all games and I mean ALL GAMES need is the ability to do your own key bindings no matter what. This looks fantastic btw, I own the first and never touched it so this may light a flame under my butt to start it to get ready for the 2nd
$40? Really?
This game gave me ptsd. Still mourn my leper to this day
Really hope it gets a physical release
Nice .the first one be the crap out of me .but looks good š
I put sooooo much time in the first one and I only scratched the surface. Just recently took a break but Im going back in to finish it so I can jump onto this! Its looks absolutely amazing.
I bought it today. it was 15% off until release time. It's 1:00 AM and I'm still finishing some work. I have not played the game yet. Adulthood sure sucks sometimes lol
Haven't played the first so not overly excited for the second, however, its great to see there is still a little love developers have for the current Switch. I'm saving what little cents I have in the hope that Hitman Blood Money eventually sees a physical release or massive sale on the eshop. Looking forward to the next SwitchUp video, cheers gents!
I really wnat to buy this!
I luckily got a SD so i dont have to double buy this game (i got it early access) i do like this one a bit more than 1 but very different!
Do you think we will get a phyisical release? I really want one!
That's a nice review! Just a little question, does it reach 60 fps?
It looks sooooooo pretty. My goodness I can't believe how pretty it is! Which is so weird to say with how dark and scary the art style is!
I am an hour or two in and I am severely let down. This is a huge downgrade and I don't understand what happened.
To me Darkest Dungeon was almost the perfect game! Cannot wait to play this on my Switch. Thanks or the review Mark.
I love both these games so much. I do like the combat in 2 a bit better and more game modes are on the way.
Started the game today and i'm having a blast. Love the new bite-size runs with meta progression formula. DD1 is excellent but the lengthy campaign felt too punishing at times.
With the free Kingdoms expansion coming. I wonder if they'll hold back the Physical to include both Binding Blade and Kingdoms on it? Kind of like how the Physical of the first one (like the Ancestral Edition) includes the expansions on the cart.
There are some games, I knew would give me a better experience on the portable switch and this game is definitely one of them.
Some fun would've been nice. Difficulty does not make a game good.
That sounds interesting. Keeping the core but trying new things so it really feels like a new game. It's not a thing everyone can do and get away with, but the ones who can, well all the better.
Can you still use the touchscreen to use the interface like in the first game?
The enemies can have death's door now, that one is soooooo ruthless
Im loving the first one. Just got it on a sale not long ago. Cant wait to see whats in store in the second. ā¤
Definitely picking this up down the line
I was really hoping DD2 would fix the overkill RNG that could absolutely demolish you, despite your best preparations, and make it feel like you're at the whims of things other than your skill, and it doesn't sound like they addressed that. Thanks for the review!
Iām sure that I will still enjoy this, but it does look like a step down from the first game.
First one was so good! But so, so soooo difficult
I think the model is a bit less sharp and more blurry than PC and PS5. But that could be due to me playing on handheld.
I'm currently playing through the first game, and it's so addictive š©
I just downloaded the first one a couple of sales ago. Having a great time. Will probably get the second one in the future because i apparently love the stress.
