Nice breakdown, I'm amazed how much vacuum was used back in the day for everything, I guess it saved on wearing out the 12v system. My 2000 Ford Ranger EV they still used the vacuum hvac controls(and brake booster) so it's got the vacuum pump that sounds like a nanny goat, I think of it as my pedestrian warning lol.
Do you think it's possible to just remove the half with the heater core? I need to replace the heater core in my car (3294), but didn't really want to discharge the AC thats actually working really well. Heater core exploded several years ago and I've been running with it bypassed for for about 4 years. I have the new heater core, just been dreading pulling the car apart again.
Just the video I needed to watch because last weekend I noticed my defrost is not working. Everything else works correctly but my car won’t send air to the defrost vent. Not the end of the world living in Las Vegas, however I hate not having everything perfect. Great video keep up the good work!

does the delorean still have a vacuum source? how are you gonna convert it ?
I used crafting black foam sheets on all the flaps and opening, glued on with paper contact cement. They are as air tight as they can be now.
