Did I waste a bunch of money upgrading my old pickup or should I have spent that money on a new pickup? Before the upgrades, the truck accelerated from 0-60 in 17.08 seconds. Towing 10,000 pounds, the truck accelerated from 0-60 in over 45 seconds. Also, the truck is unable to hold highway speed…

  1. I contemplated DIYing the trans in my old passenger full size van but ultimately decided to pay a professional ~$3000 to redo it since this vehicle was taking two families on a road trip 2000 miles. My guy did a great job and not a single regret swinging the money to have it done right. Having seen this video some years later I feel even more justified in my decision. Great video!

  2. I know you’ve done standard motor oil tests in the past, but have you ever done diesel synthetic or standard oil test? Just curious would be interesting to see I think since so many people have their preferred oil love the videos

  3. The editing on this must have been very many hours 😳 I always had a Trans guy do all my transmissions and after watching this I'm happy to have paid him to do it and want nothing to do with it myself 🙈 Plus costing $4k just in parts sounds crazy high. I never spent more than $2k each time and that included a new converter and flex plate. Great video tho! 😊

  4. Always had autos, but last car, Insignia (Buick Regal in US) had rad leak so left it in to dealer…who didnt replace seal on auto to rad cooler pipe..BIG leak 5 hrs after collecting car…dealer denied it was their fault even though mechanic told me he should have replaced the seals. Box left to 'specialist' , 2k later it was fixed…for 6 mths…"We didnt do the valve bodies..another 2k".. so traded it in for a new stickshift 19 Tucson…which NOW has consumed a gearbox, but not a clutch.. 5k quote so fitting a s/hand one for 500 and hoping..but I'm going to try to rebuild the original box as a spare…😎

  5. You're a brave man, better than me. I can rebuild an engine a manual transmission and do just about any kind of mechanic work, matter of fact we own four older Subarus and and the transmission gave up at 238k in our 97 impreza but I didn't dare try to rebuild it myself cause I never did one before. It looked very complicated, it cost 4600 dollars to have it done. We had them replace everything inside other than the main gears, they even replaced the planetary gear.

  6. My wife and I love all your videos, and she's pretty picky on videos.
We're looking into setting up a small solar panel setup that we can add to in the future.
I trust you more so than other youtubers. That being said, we'd like to see the differences between solar panels and/or deep cell batteries on your channel.
Thanks for all your hard work and doing it in a fun manner.

  7. Can you please test toyota ws fluid vs valvoline multi-vehicle full synthetic trans oil please. Some people say that toyota ws isn't even full synthetic which makes it inferior. I use the valvoline as substitute, but maybe i shouldn't because it's a lot cheaper.

  8. I have seen a lot of videos recently debating and claiming whether impacts or drills are better for general use. people saying one is faster than the other, kickback, torque, ect.

I think you and your testing format would be a great way to put all of people's bias's to rest and show where each one excels.
