A good tip for checking authenticity (at least for Nintendo) is that the model number for the game should be printed on one of the ROM chips on the motherboard. So, just double-check that the model number on the game label matches what's on one of the ROM Chip. I'm unsure if Sega does the same thing, but I wouldn't be surprised if they do something similar.
