  1. we charge nothing only for visual inspection (after screws are removed) including microscope if needed +current check + short to ground check of important power rails or coils (in PC laptops)

  2. “I charge $300 just to tell you what’s wrong with your device /s”
Thought this was another April 2nd joke. Thanks for not charging anything, you’re a good man

  3. I service household appliances. What I do is do a diagnostic visit and the fee for that visit gets waived with a labour fee so if you have me come back and put in the parts you don’t have pay for the first visit.

  4. Better than geek squad in fact they ended up further damaging my 5 yr old hp laptop when they took it in for diagnostic for $80 and wanting to replace the main board for $600 for a 5 year old laptop that costed less brand new… 💀

  5. Recently had a problem with the M key not working on a MacBook. Took it to the local apple store where they said it had to be sent to Apple for fixing.

A week later picked up the machine. Apple said they replaced the keyboard. Key worked fine in the Apple Store, signed in under an Apple account, but when I got it home, key didn’t work.

I decided that it might be a software problem. Indeed, a few minutes later I found a MacWorld article about how a setting called Mouse Keys would turn off the M key. I FIXED THE KEYBOARD MYSELF!!!

Why the heck couldn’t Apple have told me about Mouse Keys???

Moral: check the software BEFORE trying to fix anything!

  6. In my country we don't even have a system in place for diagnostic fee
I wish we did because you might spend hours diagnosing a device only for the customer to take it to another repair shop just because they now know what the problem is.
You end up wasting your time on a device that you are not gonna profit from.
    It's sad.
