Dragon Quest Builders 2 playthrough/walkthrough part 17!

Once we get this whole Iron situation figured out, we can finish the bar, get our miners even more motivated and of course, get Babs to … do the thing that she does eventually.

  1. That stupid wall. When he said "punch through the wall and make a minecart tunnel" I misunderstood which wall. Spent an hour going through guides until I figured out why the quest would advance; 90 degree angle did technically meet back up…

  2. for me I had to make a second floor above the bar (making the bottom floor 4 tiles tall with the 2nd floor being the 4th tile) when I stared to run out of space for Bab's room.

  3. Got to love to go exploring ahead of npc without triggering stuff followed up by walking t search where the npc is just to see that you forget to do step and make everything move agian.
This island does have a few fun items to find like the first island had isnt easy to find them all. Biggest issue of this town is that I always was short on space, I believe this is cause goldirox take so much space in the middle of town that you lose access to another building there.
Also this is a point where you need switch gear as it starts to lack behind really, the instant death is nice but the weapon own damage was like 2 in the last fight.

  4. Another cool thing about the Trowel is that it allows you to pick up blocks that you normally otherwise can't pick up. For example: if you hit Grassy Earth blocks or 12:00 Mossy Earth blocks with your hammer, you'll only get Earth blocks. But if you use the Trowel to replace them, you'll get them in your inventory AND compendium. If you were to, say, go back to the Isle of Awakening and have the worm make you some Grassy Earth with some Worm Food and then replace it with regular Earth, you can then take the Grassy Earth and place it wherever you want.

  5. This was fun watching. Finally, you got the Chainmail. I was wondering how long it would take you to done that armour. Now you still need to get yourself a shield.

4:00 A little fun fact about those walls. The developers considered that gamers might try to dig around them , thus they encased the entire volume with that particular block. This wall only encases the underground lake though, thus you could have also traveled backwards.

13:21 That is one of four hidden items you can find on this island. Just like on Furrowfield with its stackable drackies and Fat Rat Sign Post.

14:00 I so badly wanted to say the quest marker is in the other direction on the minimap. But I think you will figure it out eventually.

16:13 The earth block enemies were in Dragon Quest Builders 1. You encountered them in the 2nd chapter on top of the earthen mountains.

33:08 If you have a few rooms that you don't need there is nothing against it to break it down. That even goes for the copper bar. Even though a room was once part of the quest, as soon as the quest is past you can alter and remove rooms to you liking. I have also seen builders build up to a second floor. There is nothing stopping you from building the town you like. Besides, maybe story progression.

33:45 I think by the time you get to this point in the story, it doesn't matter how much you still have left to go on the copper. The game just gives you the rest. But I could be wrong.

43:00 Let's go with the Magical Girl Transformation 😎 The light is blinding.

48:56 WOOHOO!!! Level 15. Normally not a big deal, however with the iron sword you may want to consider equipping that instead of the poison needle. Its damage output is far better than the poison needle and you are feeling the effects of the diminished chances for an instant kill. But the instant kill is still possible though.

  6. when running of space to build You Can build rooms on top of rooms. & also I like to climb the walls of the surface to get the map filled out, There are new big super enemies that have sword & shield upgrades. now this is just me i like large enormous rooms that can go up to 15 by 15. Enormous won’t help though tho I have large smithy that I’d have 6 forges. Also I recommend kitchens, and a wall where the enemies spawn in front of the base so it prevents coming in from the base. At the end of i put down a block for em all to get back into the base and destroy block so enemies can’t get into it. & I normally climb a wall then fly into the base, my favorite part of the game is the jumping to then fly to then weapon while flying as i like spin around while doing it.

  7. You can plant cactus outside the town but Malroth will hit it too, it won't give the cactus seed if he hits it. Speaking of cactus, if you roam around the large desert area, you might find a cactus plush sitting near a group of cactus, just extra decoration. You can grow your own Cactiball by making a circle of cactus even on the Isle. I have mines sitting in a nice garden area.
Bunnicorn cotton drops are ridiculously low. I did get lucky last night to get three bunnicorn to drop cotton in a row. Must be an extremely rare chance. I can get 50 meat and won't get any cotton…Unfortunately, the cotton plants don't seem to regrow nor can be farmed. My water cave has been picked bare of cotton plants and the large leafy plant, they make nice scenery for the town.
I found a much better source on mushroom growing from a Japanese creator. Seems that mushrooms can grow on certain blocks (probably any cave blocks) and certain mushrooms grow next to specific rocks. The area doesn't need to be dark but requires a ceiling. They didn't have any water and used a drill cart to farm the mushrooms. Bet someone could make a nice train tunnel that also functions as a mushroom farm.

  8. Dood, why haven't you made a shield yet? You can make a pot lid and a leather shield. Also, I personally think it's time to ditch the needle and trade it in for a good ol' iron sword.
