Good job Mark, I need to do mine but keep putting it off lol
You seem to have better luck than I did. I worked and worked trying to get them to stop leaking but in about a year they would start leaking again. What I eventually had to do is switch over to the composite covers which come with a heat guard that bolts on between them and the exhaust pipe. So far so good. Thanks for posting this fix, if I have another come in sometime I'll try what you did.
