  1. Typical for high tech cars, to many electric motors and gimmicks how can break, away with all this fancy stuff and the cars would be more reliable. I my opinion it's even stupid, to put all this stuff in an electric car, every one of this door handle motors and electric openers use the juice from the Batterie, juice you need for driving. And we all knew the problems that Tesla had, when the battery gets drained, even without driving the car. Less is more, that can break.

  2. The failing trunk is a pretty common fault in older Models S. It was actually a part of my Norway trip during the summer and it was not a nice experience. As you stated, the car can not be locked so it had do stay unlocked the whole trip. And also for some reason the cruise control did not work because all parameters were not met to enable it (the car thought the trunk was still open). So I had to drive it manually! (talk about industrial country problem 😉) Not the the greatest experience when traveling by car 😄

  3. 19:26 To lock the car without key you can press the🔒icon on screen then leave the car and closed the door. It will lock the car, but make sure you have a plan how to unlock it before doing that))

  4. Bjørn — a bit of discussion. I haven't watched this. I haven't watched many of your videos lately. Once upon a time, I watched everything you posted. What happened?

Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla.

There have got to be at least tens of thousands of Tesla-fanboy YouTube channels — I just don't need to watch one more video about Tesla. Oh, sure, you still look at other vehicles, but then it's all "this isn't as good as a Tesla." If Tesla is the only thing worth considering for every single one of the 8 billion human beings on this planet, why should I bother to watch one more minute about Tesla? Trust me, "I haven't been."

I live in the United States, in a rental property that won't allow me to charge at home, and virtually every battery electric vehicle is FAR beyond my ability to afford. "I'm sorry, Bjørn, I can't do that." You live in the wealthiest-per-capita country on the entire planet. When governments in countries like mine legislate that all new vehicles MUST be zero emission — meaning, at this point, "battery electric vehicles" — those of us that can't charge vehicles we can't even afford to begin with at home, it's all so simple — WE ARE SCREWED. We are truly looking at "the end of personal vehicle ownership for half or more of our population." So, "gosh golly" some of you "battery electric vehicle fanatics" could start looking into WHAT THE FREAKING HELL ARE WE GOING TO DO in order to drive in the future — but no, it's just more Tesla Tesla Tesla, nothing is as good as a Tesla, just buy a Tesla, hundreds of millions of times over and over again. You want to make money so you can make your new mortgage payments? MAKE SOME VIDEOS FOR THE REST OF HUMANITY for which "battery electric vehicles" just plain don't work.

Also, you might consider that Elon Musk's purchase of Twitter showed his personal agenda, and I quote: "Twitter will stop the WOKE MIND VIRUS." And he has embraced the political side that has worked to win elections by PREVENTING PEOPLE WHO WOULD VOTE AGAINST THEM FROM VOTING AT ALL. The United States is currently a "democracy," but people like Musk are absolutely working AGAINST our democracy. Perhaps you just don't care about that — you don't live here, of course — but there are plenty of people like me who consider "purchasing a Telsa" to be "tantamount to giving Adolph Hitler a campaign contribution." Nope, you can bend over backward to praise everything Musk says and does, but there won't be a Tesla that I can't charge at home anyway in my future.

So, go ahead and make videos that tell people to "ignore this and go buy a Tesla" if you want to. Or you might consider making videos that appeal to "the rest of us." And with your thumbnails that express a fight against media outlets that have different opinions than yours, just realize that we'll walk right past those videos. No, I don't pay attention to The Sun — but neither should you. Give us information we can use, even if we won't buy a Tesla, and especially about what we can do if we can't afford a battery electric vehicle, nor can we charge one at home.

    Thanks.

  5. I have heard many stories about 12 volt battery issues. If the contactors are closed (car "off") is the 12v battery isolated so plugging in the car won't do anything to charge it?
With regards to the rust issues, to be fair any car used in winter will suffer for it.

  6. So in retrospective the main issue was the bad 12 volt battery. It's state was masked because the main battery would always charge it.
The other things are normal wear and would not have prevented you from arriving home.

  7. Trunk actuator binding up is a common failure on the classic teslas. When mine did the same thing as yours the mobile mechanic said if he bought a tesla that would be the first thing he would change out. And of course we all know about the handles, all of mine have been changed. 2015 85D.

  8. It is great to see videos about Millennium Falcon. Lots of items to attend to. Keeping an older car in good condition does require constant attention, including safety inspections, and budgeting for repairs. I am really glad Elbilmek found that loose tie rod before it broke!
