Very cool Otto, loved the machining of engine gland in place!
Cheers Warren
ATLF would never have dedicated 15 of video to display your actual trade craft. Great clip, you're an artist Otto

That was awesome, Otto!! Did you really straighten that shaft just by hitting it with a ball peen?
Otto, what's happening with the Constructor?
You are a very special person. Great work
I shipped some Ribbed rubber mat to Homer maybe around 2012 to 2013, it is used a lot for sluices. I sold it on ebay.

Fantastic job on straightening the shaft and flange. The machine shop I worked in straightened quite a few over the years ππΊπΈ

really cool. id fit right in there.
Still praying for your continued healing and success ! Much love for your entire family !
Genius!
Whatever happened to the Constructor? Maybe I missed it somewhere.
"OK" work, as usual, Otto!
I have to wonder how much deflection you would see in that shaft with all of those variables in play while it was in the boat (although probably impossible physically). .003 in the shaft, and whatever each flange was off, over a 12' length at X RPM.
I don't know much about boats, but I have to assume that the RPM of that shaft is 'relatively' low with a 12' span length and no center supports.
And another thing to note that I was curious about is how much the deflection would have changed at each end had the rollers been situated at the points where the deflection was the highest.
Also, I would have liked to have seen the deflection measured along the shaft with the rollers being right at the ends, as close as possible to how it was when installed in the boat.
Great content as always, Otto! Looking forward to more! -Dusty
Next time please do not making a Whirlpool with your camera. There and back There and back. Move slowly with some words of descriptions. Thanks a lot. We are following you and your nice Family for 5 years indeed. β€β€β€β€
I like a show about you and your adventures
It's pretty cool to learn new machining practices. Using that reshaped center drill and bar to face that couple was pretty cool !!
