UPDATE: Extrems has notified me that no configuration of Swiss is required to get the ETH2GC to work. Once you update to the latest version of Swiss, the ETH2GC is ready to go, just plug and play! If you enable Broadband Adapter Emulation by default, it will disable memory card emulation for all games.
Would it be possibe to get Slippi running on a real console? That would be AMAZING!
Kirby’s air ride was a childhood staple of mine. If only me and the other neighborhood kids knew it was possible to play over LAN
The only reason I even bought the Broadband adapter (I was still using dial-up up until late 2008) was to hack the GameCube. I also bought a copy of Phantasy Star Online Ep I and II as it was need to hack the GameCube. I still have that same offical Broadband adapter and that game today. I got the adapter used from my local GameStop. I don't remember the actual price but it was less than $30.
And this works as strictly LAN as well and internet?
FINALLLLLYYYYY!!!!!
If I had the sidecar and a GB Player, could I hypothetically play link cable Gameboy games online?
This Adapter needs a modded GameCube and this is a big Con…
S*** I don't even think I got a year and a half out of that game cube I had before that little drive started sucking farts!
If the original PSO comes back I’m going to lose it
Mind blown
-cheaper online adapter
-double dash online without xlink
-twilight princess online with a chat
I hope slippi gets ported too
I want to live In a reality where more gamecube games have online
Now we need one for the Dreamcast!
In the pros and cons, I believe one con is that render your SD adapter useless, since you have to choose what you will plug in the slot. While you have options to fix the problem, it still requires you to buy more stuff for your GC.
Aww the only unique thing I bought as a kid for my GameCube is now irrelevant 😢
8:36 Nintendo really missed something great by not letting breath of the wild be online after finishing the single player campaign.
So cool to see new tech for retro even though I don't have one 🙂
the big dog in the room? Not sure I heard of that one before.
The GC modding community is amazing. Their love for the GC and the desire to spread that love is unmatched
What about Nintendo Modem Adaptor?
What's next make it wireless?
Would love to see someone come up with a way to upgrade the OEM adapter for those who have one or three of them already. I really like my consoles looking OEM but with updated functionalities and features.
Ooof.. that zelda online just got a death sentence with you saying "it's available over at patreon" … rip devs
Havent seen the question yet, but will my original bba adapter work with the new swiss version?
Whats that memory card with the screen on it???
Hello.
First thank you for making and sharing another great video.
Second, do you know if the new boardband "emulation" of Swiss work with the original boardband adapter? Because I'm one of the few luck people to own one. (And yes, it IS plugged into my GameCube.)
Would love to see a video of what you consider to be the best mods and/or adapters for the gamecube. With how much is out there it's hard to keep track of them all.
But you didn’t really mention in what ways it is different than a broadband adapter. How is it better? How is it worse? What can you do with this that you can’t do with the other? Great video, but you left out a ton of information
this looks good and maybe price is the barrier but imo, a wifi BB adapter seems the next logical step.
Thing that sucks about this. Is not all Gamecube have that port. Mine doesn't.
Tito one of my two gamecubes is having trouble reading discs, do you know any good options to fix or replace parts for that? From what I read online it sounds like the laser is getting weak
This is really cool but a big let down is that it uses the sd2sp2’s port
Kirby air ride online????
When retroNAS happens, I’ll buy.
So many amazing mods for the gamecube! Bout to dust the 2003 off of mine and wax it with some 2024
Usings titos guides of course!
Great video!
Now a wavebird receiver
Seems like it would be just for PSO basically, and I'd rather just use a Wii or OG Xbox for that honestly
Huge missed opportunity neglecting SP1. It makes no sense to me they would ignore the port the broadbad adapter used and instead leaned on a port already being used on hacked cubes (not to mention SP2 was removed in larer hardware revision).
FINALLY!!!
It might be a question more related to swith than to this adapter: Does the combination of this new adapter and swith offer more or the same functionality than swith and the original adapter?
Hopefully with more broadband support it’ll make the modding scene push to make a double dash kart settings mod for LAN play(currently you are limited to the choices you can make in LAN mode compared to split screen)
Anyone have an east explanation of the difference between using the Kirbymimi mod vs using LAN tunneling over xlinkai?
Con you loose sp2 so you have to lod from the sd card yhrough thr memory card slot
I wonder if someone could add online functions to the Pokémon Colosseum and XD games using this.
Currently I have a SD2SP2 that holds all of my settings for Swiss and am loading Swiss through my GC-Loader. Am I going to be required to switch to a memory card adapter (a fine solution since I've got a Memcard) or is there a feature that's been added to Swiss that I've missed?
Has anyone made a broadband/LAN adapter for the DreamCast yet?
The video just made me think of it. 😀
Dang, I didn't realize the BBA was that expensive! I've had one for ages to netboot homenrew back in the day. We've come so far!
