We were fortunate to be able to stay with such friendly Couchsurfing hosts in Lefkosa, and had a great day wandering around this northern part of the ancient city of LEDRA with our lovely host Vahid.

You two are so very funny. Do you know that Turkey has invaded uniteraly that part of Cyprus ? In July 1974 Turkey invaded the Republic of Cyprus. This action was carried out in violation of the Charter of the United Nations and the basic norms governing international law.

The Turkish side of Cyprus is quite interesting. The architecture & restored buildings makes that place quite touristy.
I wonder how do each side of Cyprus think about the other side? At the border do they let anyone in or only tourists are allowed?
Is there two airports (one in each country?)
Veggies are surprisingly cheap in comparison to other type of food..

It appears the northern portion has restored much of its history whereas the southern portion is more modern. Is this correct?
Interesting both EU and USA have contributed to some restorations in northern Nicosia. Were these contributions were made before 1974 I wonder?

5:21 finally an impartial , out of politics comment on Lefkoşa, yeah it is not as shiny as other side but not a devastated warzone as exaggerated by most YouTubers. Under embargoes and economically helped only by Turkiye, not so bad.
