Wow…I'm still using my OG fridge I bought used back in '92. It hasn't skipped a beat. I think it's a Kenmore. I know there are more energy efficient ones but it keeps chugging along.
Bought a new LG fridge in 07' that ran for about? 4 months with compressor failure.

The last fridge I bought would “pop” as loud as a gun going off. I had 3 technicians look at it and they put sound “proofing” and the noise was caused by the “eco” dual compressors. Growing up we had the same fridge for 20 years! Modern appliances are crap.
Crap parts and slave labor are the industry’s norm. Everything is built to be repaired or replaced. Remember when a Frig was 20 years old when replaced?
My GE fridge is from 1998. Works great no problems at all.

Kenmore Ekite 6 years old. Just had to pay $800 to pay for the labor.
My LG French door refrigerator died two years to the day we bought. LG couldn’t get there to fix it. The first guy who came out, “LG is crap. It can’t be fixed.” Totally dysfunctional! After two months of calling LG and Lowe’s they refunded the $2000. Or Lowe’s gave us a credit!
My grandma's old ass fridge was like 20-30 years and working fine lmao.
The first interview was ridiculous! "I bought a second fridge that failed after FOUR years but I never had a technician check if it was a simple fix like temperature probe, so I will call it defective as well on national TV!" She would be relevant if the technician was also unable to fix this fridge but that's not the case here.
Well that was real smart. Buy a LG. 🙄🙄🙄

We'll have to see where it goes. I have an LG, which the compressor failed after a few years, even having a 5-year extended warranty from the business. My whole freezer/fridge spoiled all my food in it, and it took me 4 months to get it repaired, as the business sent a appliance service technician who diagnosed it as a manufacturer warranty item, which they weren't certified to installed, it took me another month to get another technician to come, assessing the same thing, but weren't authorized by the manufacturer for getting parts. Another month from the manufacturer to have the company to be authorized. I contacted the LG Support Hotline, was texted to provide the named repair shop for the parts, only to find out that they expected me to call back after I provided the information via text on dealership and contact information. No where did the support center text have information that I needed to call them back. LG service center is a joke. Even my friend had an LG fridge go bad on him for compressor, got a voucher to replace his failed fridge, bought a Kenmore fridge which also had a compressor that failed only to find out that the Kenmore fridge used an LG compressor, which had failed.
Hi,have a old top loader Whirlpool WD it must be 20 years, only got it fix once $150. Hope it out last me as I’m pushing 62.
My last flat stove GE and Fridge of 12 years still kicking. Could use another cleaning ..lol
